Wow geez. These are too perfect. Nice and sharp.
Thanks.
They were taken with a 16Mb Olympus OMD EM1 Mk 1 and a 40 -150mm 4-5.6 kit lens that I picked up for $120 because it was a display model and the store lost the box and books. Never been used.
I was astonished at the result. I think my Mk 2 and 12-40 2.8 might not get as much use as I thought.

They are intriguing ... would be interesting to know if it the effect is natural or light-induced
If I recall correctly they are flowers from a succulent. They were in the Botanic Gardens and are not native to Australia. I recall they were in the section featuring cactii and suculents.
So it's not lighting - It really looks like that. It's extremely pretty

Most plants bear fruit or at least a thin fruiting body. The latter being the case with Heliconia to help attract insects, birds and small mammals to help disperse their seeds.

I didn't know that Bonkerfist.
You're sincere ! Lol
Yeah,,,,I have a national diploma in Southern Africa and have an Asocciat
You probably have a lovely garden.
Here is one of my designs. I had to erect scaffolding each time that garden wall needed maintenance. The little sausage dog used to shit all the courtyard, so placing the scaffolding poles on the tiles used to put my hygienic OCD on absolute edge. I felt better passing scaffolding over their Bentley truth be told!

It's a semi-succulent so good drainage in your soil media is paramount. You don't want a medium that dries out too quickly or on the opposite scale...stays too saturated/boggy.

It has quite a unique leaf structure.

I wanna try the one that produces vanilla beans
This is a baby watermelon

These are citrons, they're related to lemons and they are used to do jams and other sweets
They're also great with drinks

Carrisa macrocarpa (Natal Plum)... endemic to the region where I was born, Kwazulu-Natal.
As kids I used to remember picking these delectable plums on the way to and from school. People used to grow them as hedges for security purposes, as they have serious thorns on their branches and stems.

Yes they do Fash. They taste just like normal plums, but with a more fruitier and tangy flavour. When I was younger, I wanted to market them into Australia, but the red tape was too much. There is indeed an untapped market with this fruit. In the African tongue, it's called amatungulu.

The ones that become orange are sweeter, but the light yellow ones are very acidic.

Can you describe the taste Breakfall?
Depending of the species...sweet to tarty. It really has a unique taste. It's not very "fruity" put it that way. Back in the day the ouma's make jam out of them. And the aborigines refer to them as good bush tucker.
When it's been raining, they are a lot juicier.
I eat them all the time, and on more than a few occasions people have looked at me strangely
or exclaimed to me that they didn't realise that they were edible.

HOLY CRAP those are edible?
Here in BRazoo we assume pretty much every single home deco plant is poisonous
Like this one, we call it "comigo ninguém pode" or "nobody messes with me" LOL
Very poisonous, if you have pet, not recommended to have them around

Lol...Dieffenbachia species. Or "Dumb Cane"...if a child were to chew the leaf, their tongue would swell up so severely that that wouldn't be able to talk. Without medical attention they could die from suffocating. The same applies to puppies and kittens.
A have one because my kids and kittens are adult. ac_biggrin
I love this mottled variant...
