US employers in the private sector added an estimated 89,000 jobs in September, a much lower total than expected and a potential indication of a sharp pullback in the labor market, payroll processor ADP reported Wednesday.

The September tally landed well below economists' estimates for 153,000 jobs added, as well as August's upwardly revised total of 180,000 jobs added. It's the slowest pace of job growth reported by ADP since January 2021.

"We are seeing a steepening decline in jobs this month," said Nela Richardson, chief economist at ADP, in a statement Wednesday morning. "Additionally, we are seeing a steady decline in wages in the past 12 months."

This is very likely a trend, not a one month blip. Even if job growth picks up in October.

There's plenty of lazy fucks out there for sure that need to be fired but there are plenty of situations where corporate America is reducing pay and refusing raises to keep up with inflation for productive employees.

Myself and several other employees had to pay the company we work for back because supply chain issues caused us not to hit our sales target for the year. The bonus' are paid out quarterly. If you have 3 good quarters and an abysmal 4th quarter, you have to pay back the overpay from the first 3 quarters when the 4th is averaged in, dragging those numbers down. It was a LOT of money, close to 10K.

All of us are making between 10% to 20% less actual dollars than we have previous years too. To be clear, thats actual dollars, not due to inflation.

Democrats in California pass a new law limiting the hand recounting of ballots. For some reason California Democrats very much want to make sure computer counted votes are used and they don't want humans looking at those votes.  Why do you think that is?
