Job growth is the worst in the country, inflation is higher here than in the rest of the country, signs of recession are every where, businesses are leaving the state in droves...  Greasy Newscum decides this is the perfect time for big tax increases.

Quote from: Thiel on May 22, 2024, 06:46:29 PMAs concerns mount that President Joe Biden might lose re-election, Democrats in the White House and Congress have worked to sabotage and hamstring a returning Donald Trump on issues from immigration and foreign policy to spending and classical architecture.

Agree.  That was all that fake supposed "bipartisan" bill was all about.  It blocked any future President from cracking down on illegal immigration until after 3 million per year already got in.

Quote from: Oerdin on Today at 01:05:12 PMFrom local media on a current fire in a utility level battery storage center that no one can put out:

San Diego Firefighters have flown in experts to the Otay Mesa Battery Storage to study the fire because they do not know how to put it out
The Battery storage fire has already used 5 million gallons of water
Firefighters say it will take an additional 7-10 days to put out
They estimate it will take a total of 15-20 million gallons of water to put out
LETHAL amounts of Hydrogen Cyanide were in the air for 3 hours after the Otay Mesa Battery Storage fire began
This project does not belong in a residential area.

You can tell a lot by an elected representative by how they respond to the community. When the fire at the Otay Mesa battery storage facility broke out & La Mesa/San Carlos residents expressed concern. Councilwoman Laura Lothian went to the scene to get info for residents.

She will probably die from exposure.

Chunky breaking in at the five minute mark to plead for money and views does my heart good. What a fucking trainwreck.

Quote from: caskur on Today at 03:43:46 AMI would just take them outback and give their brain a bullet.... problem with UN solved.

There are alien sightings in our desert... the aliens must have got them.

Get the UN to go look for them.
Plenty of tinpot regimes have got their start by ridding themselves of their undesirables in such fashion. They make a great playground for organisations like the CIA to send in the assassins to take out the heads of state for the purposes of installing their own puppet governments. For the purposes of denuding the nations of their mineral wealth you know. And knowing how much you love it when your minerals are stolen from under your feet to enrich the pockets on the other side of your country, I imagine you'll be overjoyed when those profits are going straight into the pockets of foreign multinationals, bypassing those select few robber barons in the eastern states that you love so very very much.

You see, being the leader of a country doesn't give you the power you seem to think it does. Sure, if you are talking in terms of those beneath your feet, you get to stomp all over them all you like, quickly becoming the most hated person to every lay claim to Kirribilli as your address. You will quickly find yourself very lonely too, because you are a prideful and opinionated woman who is not given to sucking foreign cock and will dig her heels in against the demands made of her on the world stage.

And Australia, much as you like to speak of it in the same kinds of glowing rhetoric I hear from the governments like the DPRK, is nevertheless a small country, both economically and politically. King Chuck the Turd is not going to ride in to save the day for you any more that his mumsy did when Gough Whitlam shook his fist at that high ranking CIA official and told him he was open to the idea of ending Australia's arrangement with the US re: Pine Gap and the Northwest Cape because of the clandestine activities the CIA hand convinced ASIO to run in Cambodia using Australian soldiers. King Chuck the Turd probably won't even know about your bullet riddled corpse until long after rigor has set in and if history is any guide, he will likely walk away from the affair, his sausage fingers as squeaky clean as his his mothers were.

I'm just telling you how the world works. You and I have butted heads over many issues before and I know you are loath to take my understanding of many topics on faith even though I have consistently proven a knack for reducing situations to their component causes and applying those same rules to other situations. This situation of the immigration problem will not be fixed by your methods because it is not designed to be fixed. Your method, of the violent disposal of anything you deem a problem will only paint a target on your back. The fact you intend to do it in a clandestine fashion and lie about it afterwards shows me that you know it will.

I don't see any value in what you propose. You are doomed to fail if you are silly enough to try it.

Assuredly so, though the latter far eclipses the former.

Quote from: formosan on Today at 11:25:22 AMWhoopi Goldberg is an entertainer.
One who is often mistaken for an "expert" and an "authority" due to her privileged position.

She doesn't entertain me so I don't think much of her as an entertainer either, but I am at least prepared to accept there are those that find her entertaining where I don't. Much of what she expresses I find... well..." idiotic, disingenuous and hypocritical" and the only reason I would pay it any attention at all would be to be informed on what unmitigated horseshit is being crammed into the minds of the gullible and the easily led.

So much for clean air.
