Quote from: Shen Li on May 15, 2024, 10:31:21 PMI follow news from Canada. This is the first I heard this.

They're starting to talk about it.

In the event that they do, I sure hope it's not Christina Freeland. She's just another Trudeau 2.0/3.0

The Liberals need someone who's a fiscal hawk and will bring immigration down to more realistic levels.

Here's another, only it's a White family

Oh and there's a wildlife near the oilfields in Canada.

Maybe that had something to do with it.

Quote from: Lokmar on May 15, 2024, 12:10:06 PMPlatinum up again too, josephine! Silver at $29.40 and Gold at $2378.87.

Platinum is going to MOOOOON!

It must be cuz something bad has happened today.

Ie, maybe the assassination attempt on Slovakia PM?

Or Russia starting to win in Ukraine?

Usu what's good news fer gold, silver or even platinum is bad news somewhere else ... @Lokmar okmeer!

That's why I always read the news afterwards to see what triggers these jumps in the price. Always seems to be war related or some catastrophe eh?

Quote from: Lokmar on May 14, 2024, 09:35:57 PMI actually support tariffs. If I had it my way, I'd put tariffs so fucking high on foreign goods, companies would be forced to build in America or go out of business. Of course we need to repeal environMENTAL regulations too.

....'Cept Canada, right @Lokmar okmeer?

'Murica needs at least 1 friend in this world, Bud.

Rumors are already swirling about Trudeau's replacement... @Lokmar okmeer!

Its gittin increasingly obvious he has ta go.

Ya'd think the Democrats in yer country would wanna give Biden the boot but evidently they won't and worse...they don't wanna.

Maybe there's a Progressive wing in the Democrats who secretly want Biden ta lose so they can install their own puppet next time and take over.

I jes don't understand the logic of keeping Biden unless there's this planned power purge after the election.

At least the Liberals in Canada know when their leader's time is up. But the Democrats in the US don't.

Quote from: Brent on May 14, 2024, 03:09:23 PMA New York Times and Siena College poll shows that Trump leads Biden in five key states as young and non white voters express discontent with Biden.

Included in the poll is Wisconsin, where Joe Biden leads 47 to 45.

However, that's the only good news for Biden in this particular poll, as Trump leads in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada.

In Georgia and Nevada, Trump's leads are far outside the margin of error.

Maybe the Democrats actually want Biden ta lose @Brent rent.

Perhaps that's the plan?

O/w it doesn't make any sense that they'd decide to keep an old codger like that.

Even the Liberal party in Canada ain't that dumb as latest rumors suggest that Trudeau will step down & be replaced by a new leader soon.

Wasn't this sorta thing done already on a smaller scale but in the consumer economy @DKG KG?

I'm starting ta wonder.

Oh and btw, this isn't even my opinion or prediction. But those mostly Right Wing/conservative Trump supporters in the United States. A lot of them have expressed this anxiety on YouTube & other social media platforms.

And it isn't necessarily Trump's fault.

More like - I believe the US economy may be prime pumped right now before the election & itll be done to make the current administration & Biden look good cuz the people who control the system support him.

However if Trump gets in they'd rather it all comes crashing down under his watch so he gets all the blame. In other words they'll prop up a faltering economy for Biden but not for Trump.

Any thoughts on this?

Is there a conspiracy/plan to pass all the blame onto Trump? Will his supporters be punished for voting him back in?

Or...is this analysis wrong?

Will it go parabolic the other way where another Trump presidency will be a catalyst to spur renewed economic growth?

Quote from: Herman on May 12, 2024, 10:49:23 PMOllie, it is that post by old Joe that makes folks not want to participate in amy thread he is in.

It is all fine and good to joke around, but the open borders, the war on the domestic energy industry, giving tens of billions to billionaires and politically connected corporations to make life more expensive for working folks, and the endless expensive wars are all Americans get under Biden.

Well @Herman erman i didn't agree with Biden cancelling the Keystone pipeline. I believe that was a huge mistake & may end up costing Biden the presidency.

Biden should have just said he'd stall the project. He catered to the Progressive wing of his party and will pay dearly for that promise
