Federal Voting Intentions: April 2024

https://leger360.com/federal-voting-intentions-april-2024/
Pierre Poilievre's Conservative Party remains in the lead, 21 points ahead of Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party. If a federal election were to be held today, 44% of Canadians would vote for the Conservative Party of Canada, while 23% would vote for Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party. Since last month, the Liberal Party has experienced a decline of three percentage points, while the Conservative Party has gained two points.

One-third of Canadians think Pierre Poilievre is the leader who would make the best Prime Minister among the federal party leaders (32%), ahead of Justin Trudeau (16%) and Jagmeet Singh (11%). Pierre Poilievre has experienced an increase of three points compared to last month.

Almost seven out of ten Canadians (69%) are dissatisfied with Trudeau's government, compared to only one-quarter (25%) who are satisfied. The proportion of Canadians who say they are very dissatisfied has jumped by 6 percentage points, going from 40% in March to 46% in April.

The final cost will be about $34 billion which is about five times the original cost when Kinder Morgan proposed it. You can thank Justine for that.

The people of Canada are going to see the benefit for a long period of time in terms of increased taxes and royalties and the like.

This will be the last interprovincial crude oil pipeline ever built in Canada. Maybe all of North America.

Quote from: Oliver the Second on May 01, 2024, 07:23:00 PMBourbon is a whiskey so this poast is allowed. I hope.

Anyway my grandpa gave me this bottle of Jim Beam way back when so it could be anywhere from 20 to 30 years old. How long does it stay good for? I'm wondering if I should drink it down before it goes bad or if I should store it longer until it's the best time.

Drink it.

democRAT Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez from Washington stated in a recent interview with NPR that there is an "urgency" for the Biden administration to revive Trump-era border policies.

Gluesenkamp Perez and a group of other "self-described centrist Democrats" are demanding that the federal government do more to tackle the crisis at the southern border, the news outlet reported.

Quote from: Lokmar on April 28, 2024, 05:08:12 PMSell that collector shit, stupid ass.

So Lokmeer, today I completed an auction where I bought 6.775 grams pure gold (after excluding alloys), paid $660.80 Canadian or $480 US) including shipping/taxes. 31.15 g is 1 troy ounce,  Current spot is $505 USD. Minimum price I saw on Ebay for that coin excluding shipping and taxes is $540 US. So I got it at least $60 US less than the going rate. With taxes and shiping added that might be $100 US saved.

and 9 ounces of pure Canadian Junk silver (after excluding alloys), like you've recommended

Mind you that was some pretty nice 'junk', 80% Silver in each coin:

6 ounces pure silver 50 cent pieces (paid $211 Canadian or about $154 US)
Current spot price is $160

3 ounces pure siver $1 pieces (paid $105.73 including taxes or about $77 US @$25/ounce)
Current spot price $80 US

...so maybe I did about 5% below spot price on all of 'em?

so if it was sold retail might be 10-15% below retail?

That's what I was talkin to you about b'fore - buy below spot & yer laughin' Bud!
