He shut down a reporter on Tuesday for accusing Donald Trump of echoing Adolf Hitler.

During a press gaggle on Tuesday, an Associated Press reporter asked Vance to react to Trump's comments. He did and gave her more than she bargained for.

First, Vance corrected the reporter's framing of the question. Trump did not say all immigrants are "poisoning the blood of America," Vance pointed out before making a critical observation about the media's reaction to the remarks.

"He said 'illegal immigrants were poisoning the blood of the country,' which is objectively and obviously true to anybody who looks at the statistics about fentanyl overdoses," Vance said. "And just one observation about the press as an organization: You guys seem far more upset about the guy who criticized the problem than you did about Joe Biden, who's causing the problem."

Long but well worth listening to.  The reality is things are not going well in Russia.  Eggs and other basic food stuffs are very high in price and people are limited to only buying 3-4 of them at a time.  Basic services like heating and hot water are not working even in some of the Moscow suburbs.  It is not yet critical but it is getting worse.  More importantly the Russian elites and media keep talking about other countries they want to invade and annex after they annex Ukraine.

The sad truth is we must help Ukraine defend itself against the Russian invasion or else we will just end up having to fight an even worse war when Russia does attack the Baltic states or Poland who are part of NATO.  Putin will eventually invade them then threaten nuclear war if anyone tries to take them back.

Donald Trump was handed a win in the courts after a proposed fast-track ruling over whether the former president can be prosecuted was rejected.

The landmark election subversion trial was scheduled for 4 March, but the US Supreme Court said it will not immediately take up special counsel Jack Smith's plea to rule on whether Mr Trump is immune from prosecution, putting the scheduled date in jeopardy.

Mr Smith's request was turned down in a single-sentence order on Friday and, as is customary, the court gave no explanation for the decision.
