Quote from: DKG on May 27, 2024, 08:28:29 AMDuring breaks from his deployments in the Afghanistan war, Craig turned to smoking cannabis to alleviate stress, just as he had done as a teenager. However, one evening, things took a turn when he barricaded himself and his two young daughters in the master bedroom.

"He thought the house was surrounded by terrorists," Jennifer Thomas, the girls' mother, recounted while speaking to The Epoch Times. "That night was bad; he said they were under attack. The other times before that were mostly him seeing auras and aliens talking."

Military police took Craig to a psychiatric hospital, where he was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 26.

he Cannabis–Psychosis Link
New UK research shows adults who consumed high-potency cannabis between ages 16 and 18 are twice as likely to experience psychotic episodes like hallucinations and delusions by their mid-20s compared to those using low-potency strains or abstaining. The longitudinal study, published in Addiction, highlights cannabis' risks to adolescent brain development.
"Young people using higher-potency forms of cannabis are twice as likely to have experiences associated with psychosis, such as hallucinations and delusions," lead author Lindsey Hines, a professor from the University of Bath Department of Psychology with a doctorate in epidemiological psychiatry, stated in a press release.

Over the past several decades, illicit marijuana products have become significantly more potent. The concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)—the psychoactive compound in cannabis responsible for the "high" sensation and one linked to psychotic experiences in some people—increased from around 10 percent in 2009 to roughly 14 percent by 2019, according to a scientific review published in Biological Psychiatry: Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging.

"This is the problem," Yasmin Hurd, director of the Addiction Institute at Mount Sinai in New York, told The Epoch Times. "Many people don't realize that the cannabis that is consumed today—the majority or all of it—is high-potency."

Food for thought. But, not edibles.
I feel it was a mistake legalizing it....there are as many marijuana shops around as convenience stores..

Alcohol should be more restricted too in my opinion.

Quote from: Biggie Smiles on Today at 09:22:51 AMBut then, of even more entertainment is when desperate dems try to spin a 10K turn out in the deep blue south Bronx as some kind of epic failure because 10K represents a little over 1% of the overall population in the Bronx

thus showing just how stupid and utterly desperate these toolbags really are  :crampe:
Oh, I know. They're defaulting to type, bullshitting their ever decreasing audiences with the same old lies while more and more are saying "fuck that noise" and in all too many cases looking at the evidence for themselves.

Jimmy Dore is right; Cornell West is torpedoing his chances of any traction whatsoever. The dems are practically out of runway, the amount of Hurt on the population coupled with recency bias leaves the Biden camp galloping up Diarrhea Drive without a saddle. They're going to have to pull a lot more out of their arse than bullshit and ballot rigging to get them across the line this time, in spite of what some TDS suffering nig in a fright wig says.

You still need to do your part. Vote early, leave no option open for them to pull any last minute fuckery at the ballot box on the day. Do the Scott Pressler thing, knock on a few doors and encourage like minded people to do the same. You know the talking points to bring... and if you don't, watch some Steven Crowder or Styxhexenhammer of James O'Keefe for further guidance.

Most important of all, get in the habit of holding your (hopefully successful) candidate''s toes to the fire. "I agree with you; I want to do it; now make me do it"... wise words from a wheelibin that could do with a little judicious adherence. I get the feeling you won't have to works as hard on that where Trump is concerned, but hold his toes to the fire anyway.

Remember, these buggers are supposed to represent you, not rule over you. You might like to remind them of that every once in a while.

A tire company in California was ordered to stop playing loud music near a homeless encampment after a homeless man filed a lawsuit against the company.

"The first night, I got to bed at 1 a.m.. The second night, I got no sleep during the night. And the third night, Sunday night, I had no way to get any sleep," said Bruce Gaylord to KGO-TV.

Gaylord said that he has lived in the encampment in the city of San Rafael, California, since last year after he stopped to get medications in Barstow to treat his mental illness and his truck was stolen.

The encampment is located next to the East Bay Tire Company on Lincoln Ave. Gaylord said that they recently began to blare out classical music in an effort to drive away the homeless people living there.

"It was painful," he said of the music. "That's how loud it was. Rock concert loud."

He said that he tried to call police but that they didn't help him. So, he called homeless advocate Robbie Powelson, who went down to document the music near the encampment.

Powelson filed a lawsuit against the company, and a judge ordered them to temporarily stop the music.

While the company denies that the music is intended to drive away the homeless, Gaylord said he will press on with the lawsuit in order to defend the people at the encampment.
