 People CAN get better BUT...I think for most, it's unlikely. Most will end up dead or in prison. Once they end up zombies on the streets...I think meaningingful recovery is unlikely. Until that person decides they want an actual life....they'll never have the strength to do it.

That is very interesting .... I  can get stoned without drugs just playing a track I love over and over and over. I can play an Eric Clapton song, Let It Grow and then I am high.
