I asked him if he would create a blatantly racist handle to make fun of African-Americans and if he did do you think their general reaction would be positive......he replied no.....that's how we felt about the handle he created.

I get the impression with Blurt, it's only racial when people he feels are beneath him do it.

Quote from: formosan on May 11, 2024, 11:37:55 AMThis is a bigger concern for the Taiwanese military than a conventional war.
It should be. Taiwan has US military hardware. They can hold off the PLA for a short time until the US and Japan can provide more aid. An EMP attack would bring them to their knees immediately.

Heard about this as it was unfolding. Cuomo isn't the only disingenuous schill that is only now "seeing the light" and having trashed their credibility back when it might have made a difference, now acting like they might be turning to distributing truth in its stead.

Ivermectin has been available as a treatment for both humans and animals since the 1980's. A simple check of its history was all it would have taken for anyone (talking heads included) to understand that human-specific versions were in fact available along with the "horse dewormers" the media and its many acolytes focused upon. Indeed, the people chiefly responsible for the development of Ivermectin for humans won a Nobel prize for their efforts less than ten years ago, if "recognized authorities" are a thing that you want to hold up as proof of a claim's veracity.

Cuomo had no problem with spouting the company line to keep his job, that's what it boils down to. His take was spoon-fed to him and like an obedient puppy dog he barked and yipped and made all the Right Noises his masters told him to. I've every reason to expect that as ready as he was to do it back then, he will do so again in the future. Perhaps not on this specific topic, but then who knows? The so-called "news" he is breaking now I was already cognisant of back then when he was deriding it. Literally anything he has to say going forward from here can potentially be regarded as a turd in my drink and treated with the requisite caution.

Your mileage may vary of course. I don't pretend to be an unchallenged authority on anything, but I do do my own research and think things through before I act. And my output is not dependent on a paycheck from a vested interest body, nor the approval of the masses.

Quote from: Biggie Smiles on May 10, 2024, 07:28:06 PMI thought Gaza was some kind of open air prison where the natives were under burden and subjected to the whip and chain just before Oct 7th.

I mean, isn't that the whole reason they broke into Israel and murdered innocent civilians in the first place?

but now it seems convient to depict Gaza as some thriving paradisaical metropolis which has been reduced to rubble by the big bad colonists, who, last I checked weren't colonizing anything in Gaza according to the very point you are attempting to make with this video.
To be fair, it was only part of Gaza that was claimed to be an open air prison, but your point is both well made and taken. I see an analog of the same sort of shit playing out in Ukraine, a place that was described in the media as a hotbed of nazi supremacy for years... until it became convenient to switch the narrative.

Interestingly, those describing the "open air prison" of Gaza could never clearly demarcate which areas on the metropolis were the open air prison and which weren't. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that finds it odd that any prison would lack some clearly defining structure that limited its inmates from interacting with the outside world and personally prefer to think the somewhat loosely defined "prison" to be little more than yet another example of mass-media hyperbole.

I mean, I've worked in the media previously so it's easy for me to see it as such. It's one of the more compelling reasons I'm inclined towards defunding the monoliths that spend their days framing world events in such a way as to compel their consumers into beliefs that are highly distorted (if not outright false) representations of the actual state of affairs.

At the end of the day, it is those beliefs that represent the true "open air prison". And you can break the chains that bind you to it; all that is required is to stop taking the talking points and language from the propaganda outlets (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, Guardian, NYT et al) and instead form your own from what you can logically prove is proper and correct.

"Go off the reservation" as it were. They hate it and will label you as an "extremist" or a "nutcase" for daring to find your own answers rather than accepting theirs without demure and you will be free of the open air prison they have built for your mind.

The State Department informed Congress it would waive anti-Israeli boycott sanctions for several Arab nations the day before President Biden drew a red line on Israel.
