Quote from: . on January 19, 2025, 12:46:50 PMYou are correct, Sir. And lest we forget, Elon was one of the oligarchs they lost. I do not fault him for switching sides, it is a hell of a thing to be a parent and finding your kid brainwashed into sterilizing themselves at the behest of the Troonie cult. Were it my kid, I too would be looking for a better class of ally... one that respected the sanctity of the family unit better.

Importing cheap labour wholesale and at the expense on the citizenry is [n]not[/b] respecting the family unit. Any one of you as a breadwinner can (or at least should) see this. Elon for all the money he is prepared to put at our cause's  disposal does not and should not expect others to roll over for his bottom line. Principle dictates that he look to the liberties taken with his own progeny and not engage in any course of action that would weaken the fortunes of our progeny, at least not if he is hopeful that we don't drop him as a sack of steaming shit in the same manner as he dropped the progressive woke left. For my part that is exactly what should happen if he is going to bring the cuntish ethic of "well I have all the money and you'll either take it up the ass or I'll take my favour elsewhere." There is a reason why none of us sling our shingle under the democrat's banner, any modicum of self reflection will identify it as being the left's penchant for treating its base in shabby fashion.

Historically the right has had its moments when it too valued the autonomy of its base every bit as cheaply. MAGA held the promise of walking that deplorable state of affairs back; it's why so many people rallied behind it. If Elon thinks he is going to buy his way in and harness it for his own ends at our expense and without a fight, then he has learned nothing.

And neither have we if we let him. This movement is bigger than one man, even a man as well heeled as he is.

I refuse to sell my autonomy short for the purposes of a pissing contest. It's great to find an oligarch purporting to be on our side, but I'm not going to grab my ankles for all things Elon for that luxury. Fuck him and his money if that's the price I personally must pay and fuck anyone who would piss our collective position up against the wall. We've come a great distance without his support; if he expects our support then he must pony up his or tell his story walking. We walked away from the personal cost of oligarch-sponsored welfare eight years ago. We are fools and no better than sheep if we allow ourselves to be rope-a-doped back into that paradigm when some rich bastard sees us enjoying the fruits of our success and takes it upon themselves to shepherd and corral us for their own personal profit.

MAGA, not MEGA.
I'd fuck Elon's trans daughter. She's cute.

I seem to recall an episode of South Park where everyone was being rope-a-doped into green vehicles, eventually forsaking the ICE owners and moving to San Francrisco to sniff their own farts.

I prefer the smell of internal combustion engines myself. Way more environmentally sound than farts.

Quote from: Frood on January 17, 2025, 11:12:38 AMI don't trust Musk.

There, I said it...
I don't trust him either. Nor do I trust Trump, even though I see him as a potential and gross improvement over that outgoing administration.

This does open the door to the media maggots screechings of disunity of course, since it is almost demanded by them that we all pick a side and slavishly follow wherever the side leads us. Which is a stupid and bullshit way to operate in any environment that purports itself to pay any homage to the democratic process; having some assclown dangle a couple of carrots at arms length might seem democratic at first blush, until you realise there's entire bushels of them to be had, some tastier than the ones on offer.

I'm happy to see Trump returned to the White House instead of assigning a puppet like Kuntmala the gig. I'm cautiously optimistic that his second term will save us from the hard landing that four years of mismanagement in Biden's name has wrought, I am also pleased to see that this time around he appears to be picking his cabinet and advisors with a little more care and tact.

That does not, nor should it infer "trust" on my part. I'll be watching them as hawkishly as I watched those they are replacing. These people are not gods, they are human. Humans fuck things up. Sometimes they need a smack about the gills to set them on the right path. Already I've seen some noises out of Elon and Vivek that confirm the need to keep a watchful eye, but I expected such to be the case long ago and went on record here and in other places about my reservations - they still stand.

In the balance, I think we traded up. Now is not the time to slack off.

"I've heard everything you've said tonight, and I couldn't agree with you more. I agree with everything that you've said, including my capacity to be able to right many of these wrongs and to use my power and the bully pulpit. ... But I would ask one thing of you, and that is go out and make me do it."

The Dems are throwing rocks from an expensive glass house.

Bloomberg reported that Biden's time in office proved a golden age for the wealthiest of Americans. The wealth of the 100 richest individuals in the country increased by over $1.5 trillion over the past four years. According to Federal Reserve estimates through September, the top 0.1% gained over $6 trillion while Democrats controlled the White House and Senate.

It certainly didn't hurt that the Democratic-controlled 117th Congress approved Biden's so-called Build Back Better Act, which included enormous federal tax cuts for the ultra-rich, or that Biden championed unprecedented inflationary spending benefiting the wealthy.

Many of the nation's wealthiest individuals, in many cases beneficiaries of Democratic policies, have backed the campaigns of Democratic lawmakers and worked to keep them in power in recent years.

USA Today reported in November that 83 billionaires, including two with a net worth of over $100 billion each, supported Kamala Harris' doomed presidential campaign. Trump had 31 fewer billionaires back him and only one supporting centibillionaire, Elon Musk.

Those now clutching pearls about Musk serving in the incoming administration have not only glossed over this detail but previously proved unwilling to condemn billionaire Mark Zuckerberg for helping swing the 2020 election for Democrats.

Before his ouster from the presidential race, Biden and groups supporting his re-election campaign received oodles of cash from a group of billionaires worth roughly $170 billion, including former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose net worth is around $104.7 billion.

Another leftist hypocrite exposed.

Trump-hating WaPo Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist, who mocked Republicans as 'groomers,' arrested on child porn charges

long-time Washington Post cartoonist has been arrested in California on child pornography charges, according to authorities.

According to Sacramento Sheriff's Office records, 49-year-old Darrin Bell was arrested on Wednesday at his south Sacramento home. Bell is being held at the Sacramento County Jail on $1 million bail.

The Sacramento Bee reported that Bell was charged with suspicion of possession and creating child pornography.

The sheriff's office said an individual had uploaded 18 files of child sex abuse material.

Police said the child porn files led them to an account "owned and controlled" by Bell. Investigators said they discovered a total of 134 child pornography videos on Bell's account.

Detectives executed a search at Bell's home, where they recovered the illicit files but also AI-generated child porn.

Bell was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2019.

Bell regularly attacked Donald Trump in his cartoons, including an image depicting the president-elect attempting to grope the Statue of Liberty and several that compared him to Adolf Hitler.

In October 2020, Bell wrote on the X social media platform: "Donald Trump, like his friend Jeffrey Epstein, is a predator who grooms his victims. He's grooming his supporters to refuse to accept any election outcome other than a Trump victory. And he's grooming the rest of us to tolerate whatever he & red states may do to flip results."

In a cartoon titled "The Groomer," Bell drew the GOP's elephant and had the Republican symbol cornering young children and exposing itself to the kids.

In one of his cartoons, Bell compared rabid Trump supporters using the term "groomer" to Nazis.

Quote from: Oliver the Second on January 16, 2025, 09:44:34 AMVatican Promises Stiff Penalties for Illegal Aliens Crossing its Border

The Vatican City State has enacted stiffer penalties on anyone entering its territory or violating its airspace without permission, threatening offenders with fines and jail time.

"Unless the act constitutes a more serious crime, anyone who enters the territory of Vatican City State with violence, threat, or deception is punished with imprisonment from one year to four years and a fine from € 10,000.00 to € 25,000.00," the text reads.

The document goes on to clarify that sneaking into Vatican territory is included in its understanding of entering by "deception."

"Entry by fraudulent circumvention of the State's security and protection systems or by evading border controls shall be deemed to have occurred 'by deception,'" the decree elucidates.

However just last August Pope Francis suggested that immigration laws should not be made stricter but rather looser, to allow more immigrants to cross international borders, adding that turning away migrants is a "grave sin."

The pontiff has also insisted that the safety of migrants — legal or illegal — should take precedence over national security concerns and that they should not be subjected to collective deportations.
