Quote from: Lokmar on December 02, 2025, 12:13:05 PMSo when's this crash, josephine? WHEN?

Well Lokmar....I'm not sure.

But I keep hearing itll be a rough time. Ie -

That's why I'm rebalancing the portfolio rather than later when it's too late.

Takin' a page outta Warren Buffets playbook, should be at least 40% invested in TBills & safe utility stocks that will never go out of business like banks utilities eh? Or the larger banks that will never go outta business  if ya can't find one in the States, then RBC ie Royal Bank of Canada is a safe bet cuz it's like a government backed security. The government here will never let it go bankrupt. I think even Americans buy their stock in the NYSE. Or Canadian Utilities stock is recommended by Americans on YouTube. Another quasi government stock that wont go bankrupt.

As far as the USA goes I think even investing in Google and Apple aren't bad either because they can be a defensive AND an offensive stock at the same time. In hard times people will need cheap entertainment. Of course Google owns YouTube which actually provides a lot of ordinary people with a steady income, even in bad times. They get paid for providing free entertainment and content to the public. And Apple iTunes which is another source of cheap entertainment. Also companies that provide games which is also a cheap entertainment. Netflix as well.

But of course when people don't have any money they wont buy a Tesla or go on expensive vacations. Or buy homes.

Rather prepare for hard times now rather than later...eh Lokmar?

Quote from: JOE on December 02, 2025, 09:42:29 AMAre you heavily invested in the stock market Lokmar?

I'm buying mostly utilities bank stocks & staples eh. Gold n money market too.

If I was buying American stocks itd be something like PepsiCo or Coca Cola eh. Or pg&e.

Me thinx 2026 will be a rough year in the markets especially those who own tech stocks & bitcoin.

I'd go to higher ground & buy stocks that are safe...eh Lokmar?!?

So when's this crash, josephine? WHEN?

So avatar_DKG DKG I bought shares in each of Canada's Big Banks.

After a month here's what I found:

3 of them were up.

1. Scotiabank
2. National Bank
3. Royal Bank

3 of them went down:

1. CIBC
2. Bank of Montreal
3. TD - Toronto Dominion

I prefer the "Flush the money down the toilet and save on brokerage fees" strategy. It also frees up a lot of extra time.
