Quote from: "Rotwang"If that is the consensus, I'm happy to hand over the reigns to someone else.

That's exactly what you need to do. You suck at this. for real

Jokes aside, I understand why a lot was binned, since it was PI attacks and child related attacks.

Quote from: "Blurt""RR arose organically."

True. This is also true of most flames or troll compost, looks like.

It seems that folks who thrive on discord will endlessly complain when told to "post there, not there."

A fragile lot claiming to have thick hides.

Too funny.

Something like that yes.

Quote from: "Peaches"I think the root of this lack of consensus is that RR arose organically as staff's way to handle stuff that frankly and clearly NEEDED some moderating.  As such, it was a pretty simple and perhaps elegant solution to a recognizable set of problems, and I for one had no problem with it even though it wasn't a solution I'd have chosen myself if I were hypothetically operating a Canadian hosted forum.

But then, that lot of flametown zombies found its way here and realized that the guest posting feature of RR offered them an exploit, essentially a chink in the armor.  And (perhaps independently) a few of said zombies also joined legitimately and somehow found a somewhat receptive community.  I think that the flame section arose largely through their collective "wisdom" but to me it seems like a solution to an ill-defined problem, and a solution that the larger BC community may not fully understand (and maybe wouldn't agree on, even if they did.)

Under the circumstances I was happy to see Rotty step up and accept the burden of managing a flame sub here, but I didn't expect him to be Merlin the magician.  I appreciate his service, thankless as it is.

But since the primary business of flamerzombies is evidently to bore everyone else to death with endless re-hashing of personal vendettas from ages past, I for one would not go out of my way to provide them with one more stopover in their endless cruising of the internet in search of a good spot to do that.

I understand why RR became F&F. The old grudges have no relevance to me. But, some people are entertained by it. As long as it stays in this sub, it does not bother me.

Then don't read the flame section duffuss... go read a newspaper or something...

I fear you've missed the point, the same one you always miss.

I think you need to keep out of the flame section.

It's not your thing, (so you claim), naturally I don't believe you. You just love whining... I'm OK with that because I love giving you schtick about you whining. There is nothing better than watching whinging old men... ermm, whinge...

carry on!~.

Quote from: "iron horse jockey"Posts constantly moved, threads locked. This doesn't happen anywhere else on this forum. And this sub is supposed to be the most permissive. There was more posting freedom when it was RR. Calling it a fight forum is a joke. This is the Sunday school section.

Here, here.

Quote from: "seoulbro"Modding is a thankless job. Personally, I wouldn't touch it.

If you have posted with someone for years and you have a bone to pick with their modding decisions, I think you owe it to them to bring your grievances to them directly and privately.

Rotty is doing what he thinks is best. But, it is a flame sub. Let people sling mud.

Its Fash's call either way.

I've let her know you're unhappy.

it's not a big deal to me. This sub offers me only an occasional interest. I am a blue collar guy with a passion for bread and butter issues that affect other working men and women.
