My client has admitted no such thing. My client has no other sources of earned income right now, as that would be contrary to the CERB entitlement. That my client has savings is inconsequential to the matter at hand.

Canadians have made almost 190,000 repayments of Canada emergency response benefits they weren't entitled to receive, according to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
CRA spokesperson Christopher Doody said the CRA acted quickly to deliver emergency aid programs to Canadians in need and designed the application for the Canada emergency response benefit (CERB) as an attestation-based system, similar to the tax-filing process.
"The CRA continues to aggressively pursue tax evasion and fraud with all the tools available to them," he said.
An offence could net a fine of up to $5,000, plus a penalty equal to double the amount of the income support claimed, or a fine plus a period of imprisonment of up to six months, according to the draft bill.

My client stated no such thing. My client is entitled to CERB to the best of his knowledge, and he must be considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law!

That's not true..
Any information he volunteers is admissible in courts of law.
Objection, your honour! That's what you'll hear when the Crown prosecutor thinks he can just introduce any and all evidence willy-nilly against my client! It's called 'Hearsay evidence,' and is generally not admissible in the court of law.

CERB money is spent in the community employing local trades, services and whatnot. I spend my own money on beer. You seem to be under the impression that CERB is my only source of available funds. It is not, as I have savings also.
I qualify for CERB, and was also told to stay home by the current government. If you have any issues with this, you should take it up with your member of parliament. I don't make the rules...
