People (tourists) forget simple things about this area: First off, there is no cell service...  Help is a long way away, potentially.

There was a drowning in the river where Mel lives...the person is missing...helicopters, and people still searching for a body :(

Talked to a friend of mine out there who said majority of those tubing in the river are tourist and it's getting out of hand.  This is what happens when you have stupid people who don't know the waters or the rapid areas...some of those corners are fuckin dangerous.

People drown quite regularly in the rivers here.  Most are tourists.  There are warning signs around the popular spots, with this simple message at the end:  Don't Drown!

Yet it happens.  Many are drinking.  While this area is quite "free," meaning you can do what you want without much interference from authorities, that also means one must utilize some personal responsibility and common sense.  Help is NOT around the corner here!

My parents almost drowned on a canoe trip when they capsized and got sucked under a fallen pine tree in the rapids. Mum popped up on the other side still 8 months preggers, but dad was sort of impaled at water level by the branches and was struggling to keep his head above water.

My grandpa got close and kept his head up while different uncles worked on breaking the branches.

I love my redneck side of the family...

You could capture an asian girl and put her in there..

Build her a kitchen.

You could!

I have three secure bunkers with asian girls in them.

You could get a dog so that someone or something will know you are missing

I deliberately did not suggest a cat

No cats for Mel and maybe Shen Li too.

What does the C stand for in KFC?

I went 4x4ing in the outskirts of Greenwood about 20 years ago...it was fuckin fascinating...little lakes of different colors, old abandonded mines everywhere, log cabins that are rotted to the base along with old tins and bottles probably from early 1900s....its just a memory now...I wonder how much it has changed since then?

The sites were beautiful and amazing!  Bring supplies and pack properly for that area...bring a shot gun too.

Are you from South East BC?

No, I'm a city dweller...but I did live in the koots for a long time and did a lot of 4x4ing in the surrounding areas.

My point was that at least something would miss him

That'a better than a wife who might sit home anxiously awaiting that precious phone call ..  not report him missing ... and in fact answer any calls with "Oh, he's out in the yard. I can see him. He's OK" .. to throw them off a search

I hope you can get some solace knowing that I'd care  .. and miss you
