Next time someone asks you if you have found jesus: "Have you found Jesus?" "Damnit, did you guys lose him again? Seriously, start using bigger nails."

How do you circumcise a priest? Kick his choirboy in the mouth.

A Catholic priest, a child molester and a liar walks into a bar. The barkeep throws a glance and says "You're the first person in here tonight".

A man is leaving church when he sees an altar boy get hit by a car. The man rushes over and asks the dying boy, "Would you like me to get the priest?" To which the altar boy responds, "How can you think about sex at a time like this?"

A priest and a rabbi walk by a playground. The priest says, "Hey, let's fuck those kids." And the rabbi replies, "Out of what?"

How did the priest know that the nun was on her period? He tasted blood on the alter boy's cock.

Joseph and Mary come to an inn. Joseph asks for a room. The innkeeper says, "Sorry, mac, no vacancies." Joseph says, "But sir, can you not see that my wife is great with child?"

The innkeeper says, "Hey, pal, that ain't my fault." "It's not my fault either!" says Joseph.

"State-subsidized witchcraft and voodoo"?

You're thinking of the U.S.

There's a difference between tax exemption and government subsidies for "faith-based initiatives."

Only to social workers...  :laugh3:

That may very well be true but most social workers I know are atheists when it comes to faith-based initiatives and agnostics when it comes to government subsidies.

Perhaps a difference in degree but not in kind.  :001_tongue:

So when are you forming a group ... like say ...  CDM (churches don't matter)?  .. and get tattoos of burning churches?

or do you choose rather to only preach and screech about them?

Because "most' brands  operate at a loss, there would be no taxes. Can they get a shortfall recompense ?

It appears your spectacles are smudged or your reading comprehension is off, hence the reference to the BC Humanist society that is doing good work.

Most brands do not operate at a loss, hence how our economy works. There are no rebates on land taxes for brands or businesses so pay up. It is pretty rich to claim poverty when churches of all denominations are sitting on hundreds of billions of dollars of property that they don't pay taxes on. The churches and their parishioners shouldn't be such cheap, lazy, bums and support their own way. If their church is so important to them the parishioners won't mind contributing 50% more to the donation plate every week to cover their taxes. It is only fair in a capitalist society. If they can't they have to go out of business just as Eaton's and Oldsmobile did.

The weak need to die or pay their way, it is 2020, it is no longer time for state subsidized witchcraft and voodoo.

God is broke the well went dry, pay him while you can or you'll end up in hell.

Pay him what? Can you be more specific?

Tell it to Jesus, or ask your spiritual guides for help, there's a lot going on right now, not very many are consulting their spirit guides, ask them, they are bored and want to help.  Good luck dude.

It is time churches started paying land and income taxes. Cartoon studios and film production facilities have to pay taxes to tell their fairy-tales so why don't churches. The both have much in common;

- Both industries tell mythical stories about mythical beings ie. Porky Pig, Jesus, Yosmite Sam etc.

- Both industries pretend these mythical beings have super powers ie., Superman can fly, Wile E. Coyote is indestructible, Jesus walks on water, god turning people into salt etc. All entertaining but nonetheless childish bullshit.

- Both teach valuable life lessons such as the dangers of anvils and catholic priests.

- Both industries, entertainment and the church hire a preponderance of sexual predators and pedophiles.

- Both industries are non-esential forms of entertainment similar to Death Metal, the NBA, video gaming and the WWE and should pay taxes on the billions of dollars they bring in.

If the cartoon industry, NFL, film industry etc. has to pay taxes so should churches.

It is time for the free ride to end.

Jesus and the church are two completely different topics.

First you wanna joke about Jesus and now you wanna complain about the church and taxes...what's next? You gonna complain the priests didn't touch you as a little boy? Or that your life sucks and blame it on the church?

So you come online to a forum to complain about taxes and churches...if it bothers YOU so much, why don't YOU go do something about it.

Jesus and the church are one in the same they are a social control mechanism that stunted critical thought in spite at one time dominating Western society.  Thankfully we are now smarter than that. The lies of the church and a mythical carpenter lasted unquestioned until the age of enlightenment and have been scientifically and logically refuted since then.

This is a good thing.

Unlike science, neither god nor jesus in all of human history has ever stopped a war, cured a disease or prevented a catastrophe. Science has. You know the same science that points to religious beliefs and says......"ahem"......bullshit! Religion and god are a product for sale akin to toothpaste or shampoo, the only difference is toothpaste and shampoo manufacturers are currently held to a higher standard than churches. Churches can poison a mind at will, tax free, whereas toothpaste and shampoo manufacturers are bound by regulations and taxes imposed by the government.

We did right by taking the superstition of religion out of the public schools and now it should be sink or swim time for organized religion. It is time for religious followers to pay the freight, if your church can't survive and pay land taxes and income taxes like any other business then you are not a viable enterprise - shut the doors. The public will value the churches value by their purse. Why should catholic, prodestant, jewish and muslim organizations be allowed to steal from hard working tax paying Canadians? Every church that doesn't pay land tax increases the land tax for a home owning family. Regardless of whether they are a follower or not. Every church that doesn't pay income tax takes dollars out of the pocket of those that actually work for a living. Why should a guy banging nails for a living pay more in personal income tax just so a church doesn't have to pay?

Insanity.

And to your final point, there are people doing something about it. To be tabled in the BC  Leg. next year, a bill reducing funding to religious, private and non-public education in BC. Due to Covid budget cuts this one is a no brainer.

BC Humanist Society to the rescue.

You want god? Pay for it yourself not with my taxes you blood sucking leaches.
