That is good stuff to have around your house and especially a business. Canadian Tire sells it, no questions asked.

I remember buying mines from one of the Cabelas/Bass Pro store.  It might not be legal to spray it on a person, but I rather use it and deal with the legal issues than risk having my family endangered to some burglar.

"Burglar"??? Dude, I do not advise using bear spray indoors....The risk of getting exposed to it yourself is very high and the clean up is horrendous. You will never get the smell out of your house....Find another means to protect yourself...It's easier and safer to clean up blood... :laugh3:

Good to know.

Bear spray is not meant to be used in an enclosed unventilated area where the sprayer is just as at risk of being exposed to the spray as the target. Unless you are wearing a gas mask or a hazmat suit don't even think about releasing it inside your home....Plus the chemical smell is almost impossible to get out of carpeting and upholstered furniture.

Run of the mill, garden variety, pepper spray or mace is a different story. You can use it indoors....It can still be unwise to use it in an enclosed area and it's not nearly as powerful as bear spray....but it's a safer option for the user. The idea is to gas the intruder without gassing yourself... :laugh3: Just be prepared as it is not always effective against a determined attacker.

If a firearm is not an option....Tasers and stun guns work just as well. They are illegal in many places but you have to weigh the legal risks against the cost of your life and limb...

Personally I still think the best home invasion preventative is a good dog and a shotgun loaded with buckshot or turkey loads....But knowing you, you would probably shoot the dog and then invite the intruder to dinner.... :laugh3:

How can we ignore people that attack us or destroy our property.

I'd bear spray them if they attempt to vandalize, my brother says as long as you feel your life is threaten, self defense is always justified.

Point taken  ac_biggrin , and thanks for the heads up, lol the effect of the spray is something I've never thought of.  Which was not fun at all when we've tested the bear mace 20 years ago at a camping ground, even when there was no wind blowing towards us and out of the spray zone I remember the slightest scent stung our nose in a crazily intense manner.  Think I'll just stick to a baseball bat and my right arm for now, lol.

i heard bear spray is good for adults who suffer from acne breakouts.

The capsaicin burns away the zits and dries up the bacteria pus. Ed's should bathe in it.

Very helpful information for Edward.

That is why you keep swimming goggles with your bear spray at all times, moron. I have bear sprayed myself and I couldn't open my eyes for over thirty minutes even if my life depended on it. I always keep goggles with my bear spray.

You're an imbecile. Too bad your mother didn't spray your father. We would all be better off.

Just like dealing with online trolls, we can either ignore them and let them know no one cares what they say, or use wake them up with stats from crime or historical facts.

How can we ignore people that attack us or destroy our property.
