Surrey is a very big area

Surrey is the largest area in the lower mainland.  I don't like Vancouver and I don't like surrey.

I wouldn't want to live in greater Vancouver.

It's considered a member of "Metro Vancouver" even though a fair distance away

and yes, is member of GVR I believe

Not sure why we are - we are quite south of Van. It takes over 1/2 an hour at freeway speed just to get to the south edge of Vancouver through mainly countryside boondocks (farms mainly).. and that's with no slowdowns (rare) and doesn't include getting to the freeway on our end

S Surrey and us are really like 1 although it is an official part of the City of Surrey & we are an independent city .. also both of us are very separated by a few miles of  countryside from Surrey .. S Surrey is very much White Rock"y" in character & really an extension of it .. pretty much our suburbs

Yes, it does. Many  Filipinos and especially  Filipinas live in the main area of Surrey, as near as possible to the geographically separate  South Surrey / White Rock area so they can work in various forms of health care here.

It's majority EI I heard. I haven't been in Vancouver in a long time.

Surrey has a large Filipino community too.
