Both companies are total turd sandwiches in terms of the service they provide.

Rogers likely only persists because their customer service department is infinitely preferable to the shitshow offered by Bell. Both companies are total turd sandwiches in terms of the service they provide.

Not sure about that Fash. Could be. They are not the behemoth of the 2 biggies

That's BS. Any professional and modern technology provider would never implement new software or hardware without rigid testing beforehand.

If they do, then they are not professional and should be investigated for inadequate systems management.

I would agree. I was just saying what they put out. It didn't ring solid

Not sure why Berry had problems .. maybe when they were newer?  I've used all 3  alternatives over time. I and my son just started them 2 yrs ago  & we both have found them much easier to work with &  blow the biggies away in all respects .. well .. OK, except for yesterday

I heard they still have inadequate coverage in rural areas.

Roger's needs to be gone with.  They are horrible.  This isn't anything new with them.

I was with them about 10 years ago...same sold shit...when my contract was up I called to cancel...took 30 min of arguing with why I'm canceling and why I won't get another contract...fuckin pissed me off.  Dropped calls, calls won't work, next day texting won't work... the entire company is on meth.

I switched to Rogers a cpl of years ago for phone .. Except for today, it's been way better than any I had before to deal with & reception always 100 per

And this likely is a hack attack .. although nothing has been given as to cause

Oh, and it's cross-Canada in extent - affecting all phones for calls and data since last midnight

They are saying back up by 5pm, but I'm guessin it a hope

Up & running

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Rogers says a software update is to blame for massive service disruptions affecting wireless customers across the country.

Many customers have been unable to make calls or use their data on Monday.

Many Rogers, Fido, and chatr customers on social media say they can't make or receive mobile calls, while others say calls work but they can't access data or there is a complete service failure. Some report the issue has been going on since Sunday night.

Rogers says it is aware of the issues and is working to restore service.

In a letter to customers posted on the Rogers website, Chief Technology Officer Jorge Fernandes calls the outage "unacceptable."

"We have identified the root cause of the service issues and pinpointed a recent Ericsson software update that affected a piece of equipment in the central part of our wireless network. That led to intermittent congestion and service impacts for many customers across the country," the letter states.
