Anyway, does anyone know how the hell that punk got the money or the legal permission to buy firearms?
The kid's grandfather said "I'm a convicted felon so we aren't allowed to have any guns in the house"... then the news says the kid bought the guns legally when he turned 18, how did that happen...
Yeah that's weird. If the kid lived with his grandparents he shouldnt have been sold the guns if grandpa was a convicted felon.
So perhaps they didnt run the kids ID.....which is bad. Unless they did and the kids address was different on the ID.
The NICS Index background check which Ramos passed is not concerned with who lives at the purchasers address. It only checks for criminal activity within the background of the purchaser and has limited access to state mental health records.
Unfortunately Ramos had no prior criminal record or medically recorded mental health issues as rumors of his prior arrest as a juvenile have proved false. It is also unfortunate and disconcerting an obviously troubled youth once again fell through the cracks because those that suspected him of being dangerous (family, friends, etc) did nothing about it.
But, you know family is usually in denial when one of their own is a problem child.

He saved like 4k working at Wendy's. And he is 18 so it was his constitutional right to buy the guns.
18 is an adult here. Most states all allow people to purchase guns at 18. Some you can be 16. It's generally not a problem.

Those who knew Ramos described him as a loner who endured a rough home life with a drug-abusing mother. He was reportedly the frequent target of bullying as a teenager due to his lisp and stutter and social awkwardness. But, they said, Ramos responded to his circumstances by violently lashing out at "peers and strangers" and engaging in lawless behavior, often leading to run-ins with local law enforcement.
In the weeks before the massacre, and right after he turned 18, Ramos appears to have purchased two semi-automatic rifles. He reportedly posted photos of the guns online along with cryptic messages.
Ramos, 18, allegedly shot and critically wounded his grandmother in a rage moments before going on a shooting rampage at nearby Robb Elementary School. At the school, he senselessly murdered at least 19 students and two adults and injured several others before he was fatally shot by police. Ramos was reportedly wearing a tactical vest during the shooting spree and was armed with a rifle.
