I own my own home in the middle of butt fuck nowhere. This summer I popped open ye ol septic tank. Nothing like downing a 12 pack of brewski's while sitting next to the septic tank while breathing in years of poo. Once you pop, you can't stop!
I read a story about a young kid who drowned in one of those. Be careful not to let the brewskis usher you into the next world via lungfuls of human crud.

I used to drive to Surrey all the time from Vancouver to pick up limos for jobs. That was like 20 miles away. Fuck that was far and had to cross 3 sometimes 4 congested bridges ta git there. To pick up 1 lousy limo so someone could have their joy ride. I had to know all the short cuts thru town often to pick up those vehicles....during Rush hour. Don't know how I did it but I did.
And that company called me back 2 years later after the worst part of the Pandemic to work for them again. I said no thanks.
Don't wanna go ta Surrey anymore.
Ya couldn't pay me ta go there now.

Ya don't have ta live there 100% of the time or even own property to 'live' there. I wouldn't even if I could.but 3-4 months at a time might be nice.
That's why a Lotta retirees from cold climes like Quebec Ontario or the Prairies just take a hike during the Winter to places like Florida or Arizona ...come back in the Spring.
Given the oppressive summer heat I wouldn't wanna be in those places all year round.

I would hate to live in California.
Actually it's nice down there Iron Horse Jockey.
I'd like to get a home or getaway place in Northern California one day.
But my major concern is the social situation in the States is so bad right now with no signs of imminent improvement.
Plus they gotta bit of a gun problem which is increasingly making the US less safe all the time.
States like California and Texas are becoming diametrically opposites of the other to the point they may as well belong to or be separate nations.
1 day the US is gonna have to move like a semi 2 state solution or loose federation like Canada. Ie Quebec with a semi independent status making its own laws controlling it's own immigration

There was an Australian bird who moved back to Australia with her American hubby in 2002... close by us.
She was a B-grade soap director and he a sound tech....
They sold their tiny little shitty LA home for a million and retreated here, plowing the proceeds into three shitty homes on quarter acre blocks, then she divorced his arse, got full custody of their two children, and he had a mental breakdown....
So to be nice, she rented one of her houses to him at exorbitant rates, and allowed him to have his youngest daughter spend the night occasionally but not the son.
That is the entire story of California in a quick nutshell to me.
