Dems are the party of oligarchy and that is why virtually all of the billionaires (other than Elon and one or two others) support Democrats.

Quote from: Herman on July 12, 2024, 08:37:28 PMThey democRATs hate billionaires, so that is why billionaires are supporting Biden and not Trump.

But, I will say the old RepublicRAT party were owned by billionaires and corporations just like today's democRATs.

Donald Trump is the only major candidate in North America representing working class interests. That scares the hell out of the billionaire owned parties.
It scares the hell out of the billionaires more to the point. Really fucks with their bottom-line projections when they suddenly discover they can no longer afford to buy unquestioned favour in the halls of power.

The parties on the other hand will continue to do what the parties have done since forever. That is "make deals for their special friends" (ie: billionaires, corporate entities, various other moneyed interests et al). The only thing they're ever going to go all Sad-Panda over is if "the billionaires" turn off the money spigot so they will continue to promise them the earth if only they keep it open.

Just like they've been doing to us for years. Politicians are gutter scum like that. All of them to a man (and yes, I include Donald Trump in this) are in it only for what they can personally get out of it and will be quite content to push their own agendas using whatever means they think they can get away with.

We might consider ourselves lucky to find politicians whose agendas leave enough room for the rest of us to thrive in. I believe Donald Trump to be one such example of this... that is reason enough for me to back him.

Also Michael Bloomberg is so rich that he offered Trump, himselfa billionaire, several billion to drop out of the 2020 Presidential race.

Thing is, he could actually afford to do that

Not exactly the party of the New Deal.
