You pay to keep the lights on at a site where the question "is Alticus a dick sucking fairy" shows up on the regular, so technically...

Not that I'm complaining you understand. As long as he keeps his chapped and sweaty lips away from my empurpled and throbbing love gladiator, I'm good.  :crampe:

Quote from: hard R on August 15, 2024, 09:05:13 PMBullshit. The US reached far greater heights when Trump cut taxes for the middle class and got the fuck out of the way of gas drilling.

Not wasting a ton of military spending on new wars helped too. You sir, are as full of shit as Aidsmin is of cock.

Singapore's prime minister receives a salary nearly 5 times that of the president of the USA.

The rational for that it is a big salary disincentives using their office to make themselves very rich like Bill Clinton did.

Not that it would be possible here. Singapore is a lot more transparent than the US or Canada. Any pm or senior cabinet minister attemting to sell influence to foreign nations like Biden did would be removed from parliament.

The Tax Reform Act of 1993 hurt the poor the most because it raised taxes on gasoline and Social Security benefits.

And it was passed before the red wave of 94 and the Contract With America written by Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey.

On the first day of their majority in the House, the Republicans promised to bring up for vote, eight major reforms:

Require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply to Congress;
Select a major, independent auditing firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of Congress for waste, fraud or abuse;
Cut the number of House committees, and cut committee staff by one-third;
Limit the terms of all committee chairs;
Ban the casting of proxy votes in committee;
Require committee meetings to be open to the public;
Require a three-fifths majority vote to pass a tax increase;
Guarantee an honest accounting of the federal budget by implementing zero base-line budgeting.

Quote from: Reggie Essent on August 15, 2024, 03:34:23 PMBush the elder was a Deep State Rino scumbag.  There is no such thing as "taxes being raised for the greater good."  This idea is a fairy tale told by those with a vested interest in taxation to justify their theft and dupe the idiots that are made to pay taxes at the point of a gun.

Taxation is theft.  Pure and simple.  And the taxes we all pay today are no different than the first taxes ever paid -- when a group of thugs stormed into the first village and said "Give us half your crops or we'll rape all your women and kill all your men and burn your village down and take all of your crops!"

The only "greater good" served is always the greater good for those who suck their livings from those who pay the taxes.

Quote from: JOE on August 15, 2024, 03:23:08 PMAnd I thought his predecessor George HW Bush was not given enough credit for making Clinton s job easier avatar_Reggie Essent Reggie.

I remember Americans & especially Republicans snagged him for breaking his no new taxes pledge but it in end history proved him correct. He raised taxes for the greater good.

Trouble is nobody wants to swallow the necessary pain to bring a better tomorrow anymore.

HW grew up in the depression & volunteered for wwII. But that mentality doesn't exist anymore
