Robert De Niro says he now has "no choice" but to leave New York City after Mamdani officially became mayor.

According to De Niro, the new administration wants to take nearly half of his savings simply because he's considered "wealthy."

"I haven't worked in some time. My savings are all I have," he said.
What makes it more ironic? De Niro was one of Mamdani's most vocal supporters during the campaign.

Social media didn't miss the moment — many are saying he's officially entered the "fuck around and find out" phase of his own political choices.

"But aren't you one of those rich oligarchs Mamdani is talking about, Bernie?" pressed Owners, smirking like a cat who just caught the canary. "I mean, come on, you've got three houses, a net worth in the millions, and let's not forget those book deals that made you richer than a Wall Street hedge fund."
"I'm not that rich!" Sanders shot back, his Brooklyn accent thickening like Vermont maple syrup. "Listen here, I've spent my life fighting for the working people, the folks who can't afford a second home—er, I mean, a modest lake house. This is a smear campaign by the corporate media!"
"You're worth a few million on paper, not to mention all those donations you've been squirreling away like a socialist hoarding caviar," Owners fired back, not missing a beat.
"I don't live in New York City—Mamdani can't touch me!" Sanders insisted, pounding the table for emphasis.
