Your education system is fucked up and not fit for purpose. I think you know that, or you wouldn't be putting in the hard yards to homeschool Squish to the best of your ability. The most astounding aspect of it all would be the pretense that if everyone simply threw more money at the problem, it would be resolved.

Except that was already tried, wasn't it? The Department of Education had a metric buttload of money thrown at it, the kids got to learning the ins and out of buttplugs And the quantifiable result in the "Three R's" part of the syllabus got flushed down the toilet.

If the average student can barely pick up a book to educate themselves, the conditions are ripe for a bunch of retards to scream that Hillary got the popular vote in 2016, little realising that the popular vote doesn't carry the day. And in 2024 when even the popular vote is against them, to be lied and propagandised to in ever blatant ways by the usual suspects.

I wish I could say this was only a problem in the US. It isn't. The fact is (and you have seen this) the dumber and more ignorant the populace, the easier they can be herded like mindless animals. It's easy to see on the left, particularly the far left whose ignorance and mindless jingoism is celebrated and encouraged. But it is not unique to them. A constitutional republic the US may be, but it follows that you and everyone within your borders need to do their due diligence to determine what what suits their needs best.... not take their talking points from some megaphone. Even one that purports to have a conservative leaning agenda.

I give DKG shit often for allowing the site he pays for to give those megaphones space on these pages. That's the reason why. We can all as people get a lot further ahead by thinking for ourselves than taking our talking points from a degenerate and dying mass media that in a better world would be crushed out of existence for the panic-mongering cockroaches they are.

Media's future deserves to be written by the people it affects, not the leviathans that can be bought and paid for at a whim. "Everyone has a voice" you say? Let it be so.

I heard it described thusly; a democracy is two wolves and a sheep sitting down to decide what's for dinner. A constitutional republic is the same two wolves and a sheep sitting down to decide what is for dinner, only the sheep is armed.

I too think the US has the better system. I mean I have lived under two democracies and watched as protesters were trampled by mounted police officers. And nothing would have pleased me more in either instance than to see a member of some well regulated militia put a round of buckshot into the mount, a-la Douglas C Neidermeyer.

 :yeahhh:
I can speak, read and write it fluently. I just choose not to in most cases. When confronted with the choice of a language rich in expressivity and its simplified knockoff, I prefer to rise to the challenge and exercise my grey matter.

Not only does that make me an elitist prick, it also puts me way out in front of the pack of year eight US students that effectively don't HAVE any language.  :evilthoughts2:

The Constitutional Republic I live in allows for everyone to have a voice. We have the electoral college and a whole host of checks and balances to make sure everyone is represented.

It's the most unique country on the planet. It's brilliant and beautiful and i love my country and my state.

We are not and never were a democracy. We have democratic elements but we are a republic.

I don't get why so many people blather about democracy. "A danger to our democracy!".....no shit and GOOD. We want our republic back in order.

It also frustrates me how many people don't understand that the United States is exactly that. States that are United. Each state has its own government, it's own culture, it's own thing going on. The states are broken up into districts that allow for everyone to get a vote and a voice in how their state is ran. Each district has a representative that the people elect. And so on.

The federal government is not there to flex authority over the states. The left and democrats want that power over each state and it's chilling how much support that gets.
Canada was meant to be a loose confederation too. Both Trudeau prime ministers have trampled on provincial jurisdiction.

Quote from: . on February 16, 2025, 02:15:50 AMThat's how you spell it in the lion's share of the english speaking western world. I find it amusing that a citizen of a country which boasts an illiteracy rate of fully one third of its eighth grade students would be attempting to correct the spelling otherwise.

You foreigners should learn to speak American!
