You for sure have to be insanely lucky to come out ahead. Bitcoin seemed retarded the first time I heard of it. Pokemon cards seemed like a worthless kid game idea when new but they surpassed all other card collections. Beanie Babies had a retard amount of hype and were way over saturated which resulted in people getting burned out on them which made them about worthless. Carefully controlling the supply and demand along with keeping interest seems to be key with collectables. Rareish coins seem to be fairly safe as at least you wont lose money. The re-strikes from the US Mint on the Flowing Hair and 2021 Morgan/Peace dollars have only gained value. Those wont make you rich tho unless you purchase a bajillion of them. You just never know what the new biggest thing will be and far too many times, the creator sees the cash wagon pull up so they milk it dry and fuck themselves.

Remember the guy who lost 100 grand on Beanie Babies?

My stupid cunt ex wife spent shitloads on them fucking things. I think we had 2 tubs full of them. UGH! My older kids got into Pokemon cards early on and they have some cards that are pretty valuable today. I wish I would have bought that 1st Edition Holographic Charizard card back in the late 90's for $75!!!  :crampe:

Quote from: JOE on February 19, 2025, 02:34:13 PM...are getting too expensive I'm afraid.

I used to buy lots from the States when the Canadian dollar had a more favorable exchange rate with the USD..

But lately I haven;t bought much from the States

Plus add the Trump tariffs and the new taxes the Canadian government will likely add on because of this Trade War.

Oh well, at least I got most of what I wanted when things were cheaper a year or 2 ago.

Guess I'm gonna buy more from Canada, Europe & Australia from now on.
Sugarplum, Trudeau made life hard for all Canadians when he decided a trade war with America is a better idea than no tariffs and a secure border.

But, I am not giving you an advance on your allowance so you can blow it on useless junk you find online.
