SMF - Just Installed!
Quote from: DKG on May 10, 2025, 09:56:16 AMCarney campaigned on toughness towards Trump(but not China) during the election. On their first meeting he was as meek as I have ever seen any prime minister of any country act.Because China lent him and his WEF pals 1/4 of a billion dollars.
Carney and Trump are a lot closer than they pretend.
Quote from: JOE on May 09, 2025, 11:35:12 PMI thought Trump was responsible for a 4th Liberal term BrentBrent
And that's what Trump wanted.
Plus he managed to 'fire' Trudeau. I'll give Trump full credit for that. But many Liberals were actually grateful that he did it for them. Trump accomplished what the Liberal party could not force Trudeau to do - step down! It was a bloody gift too.
If Trump had the same amount of animosity towards Carney, that meeting would not have gone smoothly at all.
Quote from: Lokmar on May 09, 2025, 11:32:50 PMLets try this again, josephine. Answer the question!Carney campaigned on toughness towards Trump(but not China) during the election. On their first meeting he was as meek as I have ever seen any prime minister of any country act.
Quote from: Brent on May 09, 2025, 12:11:03 PMTrump was not responsible for giving the Liberals a fourth term. Not really, it was the low information Canadian voter. Especially in Eastern Canada.
Quote from: JOE on May 09, 2025, 01:51:51 AMAgain how did Carney get humiliated Lokmar?
And why does the Liberal press insist that Carney humiliated Trump?
I thought neither was true.
If Trump scored a public relations victory it's only that he didn't have a major blowup this time like when Zelinskyy visited. At least this time Trump was on hos best behavior.
I more like to think both Canada & the US won in that meeting because Trump seems to have found someone he respects and is willing to work with. Win win for both countries.
Likewise Trump likes Starmer so he managed to reach a deal with Britain. Again win win for both sides.
If Trump doesn't like someone like was the case with Trudeau it's no good for the negotiations.

7. Cucknadia is a deadbeat not paying its fair share of its fucking defense

Quote from: JOE on May 09, 2025, 11:27:54 PMYou'll know who won or lost in that exchange when new trade deals are announced & the results show.
Until that time nobody won or lost in that Carney Trump meeting. It was just a way for them to become acquainted. That's all Lokmar.
Quote from: Lokmar on May 09, 2025, 11:23:21 PMYour surrender is noted josephine! Out of all the numbers, which one was the worst for Carney?![]()
Quote from: JOE on May 09, 2025, 11:31:22 AMBut Canada's trade is growing outside if the US Bud.
Pretty soon Asia n Europe will replace the US as our major trading partners.
More like America needs us more than we need them, eh Lokmar?
Quote from: DKG on May 09, 2025, 10:49:40 AMThe only pipeline in Canada to tidewater is Transmountain and if everything in it went to China(a lot of it goes to the West of the US), it would never "dry out" the oilsands. He did recently indicate he was prepared to use some of it; I distinctly remember that being discussed here briefly at The Cashew as little as a week or two ago. Granted; "some" is not "all" and while he hasn't telegraphed a desire to scale up the amount, I wouldn't advise taking the weasel's word on anything. Especially not in light of the recent chat with Trump. I would not put it past him to make up the shortfall incurred in revenue that the Canadian economy might have enjoyed were Trump not looking out for US interests by approving a larger amount of oil be allocated to China. And I would not put it past him to curry favour with China by making any such prospective arrangement a "sweetheart deal".
Carney's plan is to double down on what Trudeau did and landlock our most valuable exports. His enegy corridor talk is about replacing coal and natural gas with Chinese made wind turbines, driving up energy costs. Carney is an extreme climate nut and he is happy having Canada reliant on the US market. This is why he might be the last prime minister of a united Canada.
