Quote from: Herman on June 30, 2025, 02:11:31 PMThe Americans asked for a 30-day pause on Canada's new digital tax. Just a pause. We said no. So what did Carney's Liberals do next? Announced, quietly, late on a Sunday night that we'd repeal it entirely.

Not negotiate. Not bargain. Not even pause. Just surrender.
Mark Carney is a national embarrassment. Canadians were duped, hoodwinked into believing this overhyped elitist would be the star of the show. He was the man best equipped to face off with Donald Trump and defend Canada's interests. Instead, he folded faster than cheap patio furniture in a prairie windstorm.

The only thing "elbows up" about Carney is the fantasy Liberals sold us. In reality, he's elbows down, head in the sand, and ass up to Washington. Weak. Pathetic. Embarrassing. AMATEUR.

He hasn't delivered one single win for Canadians. He hasn't stood his ground. He hasn't negotiated anything of value. He's just rearranged the deck chairs on the Titanic while Trudeau's ship of fools steers straight into every iceberg in sight.

And let's be clear, the Conservatives were built for this moment. This was a high-stakes, high-pressure negotiation that required experience, spine, and strategic grit. But instead, the Liberals handed the job to a feckless global banker with zero political instincts and no feel for the people he supposedly represents.

Why on earth would anyone trust these Liberal incompetents with anything serious? Every time Canadians hand them the keys, they drive in the wrong direction and crash the car.

This was a moment for leaders. Instead, we got Carney.
This was a moment for steel. Instead, we got spineless surrender.
This was a moment for Canada. Instead, we got sold out.

Now that Mark Carney cancelled the Digital Sales Tax because Trump told him to, will he be raising another tax on Canadians or will increase the deficit more.

Precisely. More Europeans know what Carney has in store for Canadians and they are rejecting for their own countries.

Carney is weak as a kitten and he doesn't give a fuck about Canadians. He was not appointed PM to serve the people.

Trump on the other hand is not owned by anybody. He has made all the money he needs. He donates his salary and his only motivation is improving the lives of Americans. It's an ego thing for him. He would be pissed off at himself if Americans are less well off on his watch.

Quote from: Shen Li on June 30, 2025, 12:54:13 AMCarney announced he's rescinding the stupid Digital Services Tax(DST) which charged Canadians extra for using streaming services such as Netflix, after Donald Trump cited it as a justification to end trade negotiations.

Fuck Carney is awful. And it's only the beginning of him making Canadians poorer than True Dope did.

I am soooooop fucking glad I do not live on that sinking ship called Canada.

Sadly the Liberals are serious about killing democracy and instilling a Communist Republic of Canada
This has been made perfectly clear by their actions to destroy Your Freedoms
There truly is No Tariff War between Honest Canadians and Honest Americans
This trade war is between a Digital Banker and a Free Trade President
Why else would a banker hide away for months?

Quote from: DKG on June 29, 2025, 10:40:52 AMThis is what he wants with Europe. We enter into treaties on climate goals.

Harper gave us CETA and he even tried to get some sort of labour mobility arrangement. Carney wants to negotiate a climate treaty with the EU that makes life more expensive for Europeans and Canadians.

The problem for Carney is that EU member states from the Netherlands to Austria to Slovakia and now Romania are rejecting his globalist vision, especially at the national level. He is left trying to negotiate with people like Ursula von der Leyen who's globalist vision Europeans are increasingly skeptical of.

Mark Carney's new deal with the EU ties Canada to European carbon pricing, industrial decarbonization, and global carbon markets.

Let's be clear:
– The U.S. and China don't have carbon taxes
– They still trade freely with Europe
– Canada just locked itself into even more regulation

Yes, the consumer carbon tax was dropped in April. But the industrial carbon tax—one of the highest in the world—remains. And Carney wants it to rise even higher.

That means Canadian manufacturers—steel, cement, energy—keep paying more while foreign competitors don't. It doesn't level the field. It buries us under red tape.
And this comes as:
– GDP per capita is falling
– Productivity is stagnant
– Investment is leaving the country

Canada already had access to the EU through CETA. This isn't about trade. It's about importing Europe's climate agenda, industrial policy, and bureaucracy into Canada.
