The Grits are warning of illegitimate media in the aftermath of Tumbler Ridge. That of course means media that receives no tax dollars and is free to hold the Liberals' feet to the fire.

Quote from: DKG on February 13, 2026, 07:54:37 AMCarney will be in Tumbler Ridge today not letting this tragedy go to waste.

He will use it to advance his C-9 bill. The hurt feelings bill similar to what the UK has. They will use it ban social media like X. And they will use it to advance their anti rifle agenda even further.
That is my plan.  :crampe:

Try this next time you're talking to a Liberal: describe Bill C-15 but tell them Trump's doing it.
Once they start calling him a dictator, tell them that you lied and this is actually one of Mark Carney's bills.
Watch their heads explode! 🤣

Tamara Lich, one of the courageous leaders of the Freedom Convoy, was sentenced in the fall to 12 months house arrest and 6 months curfew after being found guilty of criminal mischief for her involvement in the Freedom Convoy in early 2022. At the same time, she was found not guilty on four other criminal charges.

The government is appealing both her sentence and her acquittals! They want more guilty charges and a longer sentence! Her criminal mischief conviction, and 18 month sentence are not enough for them! Really, this is shocking.

At the same time Tamara is appealing her mischief conviction. This saga - which is already 4 years old - could be several more years before it's done!

So many resources are being directed to this trial it's truly staggering. It's obvious there aren't enough court resources, as real criminals are being let go without facing trial. Earlier this month, in Ottawa, two men accused of a deadly 2021 bounty-related killing in Ottawa were freed after a judge ruled their right to a reasonably speedy trial had been violated. Shockingly, one of the men had been previously accused of a separate 2015 murder only to have those charges withdrawn over issues with the case.

Imagine being let go twice, on two separate murder charges, without so much as a trial, yet for Tamara, she was held in jail for 49 days without bail, and has been dragged through the courts for 4 years, and they're still not done! Tamara tells me this already was the longest mischief trial of all time  in a commonwealth country.

This appeal will inevitably involve much more legal costs, travel costs, and significant hurdles and headaches. Tamara has already logged over 40,000 km driving to and from Ottawa for hearings related to this trial, and undoubtedly she'll add many more km to her odometer.

Quebec is now the only province openly willing to work with Ottawa on its federal "gun grab," a reality that is hardening regional divisions and deepening skepticism about the so-called "assault-style" firearms compensation program.

While most provinces and many major police services have either rejected or distanced themselves from the initiative, Quebec has signalled its readiness to cooperate with the federal government on implementation. That decision has left Quebec increasingly isolated as the rest of the country pushes back against what critics routinely describe as a "gun grab."

Carney advised Trudeau to invoke The Emergenices Act.

In a unanimous decision released Friday morning, the court upheld a 2024 ruling that found the federal government's use of the Emergencies Act during the Freedom Convoy protests was unreasonable, unlawful, and unnecessary.

The appeal court agreed the Liberals failed to meet the legal threshold required to declare a public order emergency — and confirmed the government's actions violated Charter rights, including freedom of expression and protections against unreasonable search and seizure.

This decision reopens serious questions about federal overreach, civil liberties, and accountability for the unprecedented freezing of Canadians' bank accounts.

Conman Carney's gun grab won't make Canadians safer, but it will cost taxpayers a huge amount of money.

The union representing RCMP members says Ottawa's scheme "diverts extremely important personnel, resources, and funding away from addressing the more immediate and growing threat of criminal use of illegal firearms."

And independent experts say the total cost to taxpayers could be more than $6 billion.

The results from the Cape Breton pilot project show that taxpayers like you and other experts were right when they said it was going to be a failure from the start.

The government aimed to confiscate 200 firearms during the pilot project. It only collected 25. That's despite the local municipality being given $150,000 by the feds to carry out the confiscation.

Conman Carney could turn this country into an economic wasteland overnight if he continues with his Gestapo shit.
