Finally some good news about Canada.
QuoteNew research shows the number of Canadians taking prescription opioids is falling, even amidst ongoing shortages of common pain medications such as Tylenol 3 and Percocet.

Some experts say the trend is indicative of doctors adopting more cautious prescribing practices.

"This is a deprescribing strategy that reduces harm," Jennifer Lake, a pharmacy professor at the University of Toronto, told Canadian Affairs in an email.

If there student visas expire they should have to return to their countries. Letting them make asylum claims is an abuse of that process.

A growing number of international students and temporary foreign workers are turning to Canada's asylum system to extend their stay after their visas expire.

Data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) show nearly 70,000 people who arrived on study or work permits have filed refugee claims since January 2023.

"What's happening is that you do have a certain subset there that are now making what we call 'unfounded claims' for refugee status," said Robert Falconer, a researcher on immigration at the University of Calgary's School of Public Policy.

These two total failures couldn't even run a lemonade stand, but now they're in charge of justice and culture respectively.

A reminder of what we were and what we have become. The Liberals turned a top five nation into a mediocre country.

This is why we want our own country. I wish Canada well on their own, but it is time for a divorce.

This was written by Dr Leslyn Lewis.

Years ago, when I warned that Canada was heading toward decline, many dismissed it as fear-mongering and  "conspiracy."

But time has a way of proving who was sounding the alarm and who was asleep at the wheel.

The RCMP's newly released Whole-of-Government Five-Year Trends Report confirms what many of us already knew, that our institutions are losing public trust, inflation and inequality are deepening, and the social fabric that holds this country together is beginning to tear.

We're now hearing even the Prime Minister and former Bank of Canada officials quietly prepare Millennials and Gen Zs for an austere future. One where home ownership becomes a dream of the past, replaced by government-owned rental blocks.

If this trajectory continues, Canada could face food insecurity, civil unrest, and the kind of instability no democracy should ever invite.
It's time to tell Canadians the truth.

We cannot rebuild trust by hiding from reality.

The next generation deserves honesty, and leadership that prepares, not pretends.

Investment per worker in Canada is down 10.8% since 2015...the worst in the G7.

After a decade of costly Liberal experiments, Canada invests less, builds less, and keeps falling further behind.
