Not in genuine belief in the information presented, nor the degree of individual harm that is occurred. With RFK peeling back the lid on certain practices in the medical and dietary community, I'm interested to know if you've seen enough yet to challenge your position on the matter in question.  Not really. During covid my stance has been pretty consistent. I like little government intervention in the lives of the people.

 The government exists for one purpose, preserve and protect our constitutional rights.

 During covid, we as a people DESERVED and were entitled to CORRECT information. We should have been given correct information, OFFERED resources, and left the fuck alone to make our own individual decisions.

 I have that same stance about any medical intervention. I will say that gets different when we are talking about public institutions like public schools...and individual practices owned and ran by pediatricians. Just like we have the right to make decisions for ourselves and our businesses, so do they.

 I have no problem with public schools requiring basic childhood vaccinations and offering medical exemptions. Its a public facility....it is what it is. People have the option.

 That being said, the government bullying parents into enrolling their kids and keeping their kids in public schools is problematic for me with that as well. 

 Anytime I have seen Wakefeild brought up to me its been by wacko crunchy anti modern medicine moms. I watched that Vaxxed documentary and it infuriated me. Not for the reasons you think...but because none of the people in it are even willing to entertain anything past "the vaccine did it".  I saw a mother sitting doing an interview right in front of her autistic son, saying how he was "destroyed". How he "used to be" a beautiful baby boy. How he will never live a "normal" and it made me absolutely sick seeing her say those things RIGHT IN FRONT of him. Imagine how that would feel to hear your mother telling someone you've been "destroyed".

 The kid was autistic. Not a goddamn vegetable. He can hear her! He knows what shes saying. It broke my heart for that poor kid.

 I'll go ahead and explore all things Wakefeild. I listen to a lot topics while I clean and work out so I'll just go ahead and focus on just him and what happened there and we will talk about it because I honestly dont know enough about HIM to have any intelligent discussion on it.

 But I absolutely understand where you are coming from with it. I get it. I stand that people are entitled to their freedoms and any load of bullshit presented to us with some agenda designed to influence or force our decisions for ourselves is a violation of our autonomy. I agree with you on that.

 Our disagreement is mostly about the vaccines themselves and I have to go do some more in depth reading a Wakefeild to really be able to discuss this more on the level you are on with it. I'm mostly ignorant of his full in depth story. And yeah I absolutely wrote him off as a quack.

 I support vaccines themselves for a plethora of reasons. I know what can happen without them. I know infants die choking to death and drowning in mucus. I know children die or end up permanently disabled and have brain swelling. The diseases we vaccinate against shouldn't be underestimated and my frustrations with people (or at least other moms) who oppose vaccines is how they belittle the dangers of the diseases.

 And I tend to view a good chunk of the anti vaccine narratives the same way I view the covid vaccine push. I've seen vaccine opposers ruthlessly bully moms whose baby DIED from a vaccine preventable disease.

 Its a hard discussion to have ..
As a mother who had to make these decisions for my own babies...keeping my own emotions and biases in check. And when we went rounds with this very topic almost 10 years ago, I had just given birth to Squish and I was being pelted with anti vaccine hysterics from other moms who have ZERO education in any medical science.

 Like when someone starts talking about toxins, I get that. I do. But I also know what makes a toxin toxic. It isnt the substance itself, because everything is a toxins. What makes it become toxic is always the amount and the route of consumption.

 If I drink a glass of orange juice? I'm good. I'll even get benefits from the vit C. Right? Now if I fill a syringe with that same orange juice and I bang it like its a shot of dope? I'm gonna have a really really bad fucking day. Because I just administered a toxin directly into my bloodstream 

 Does this make orange juice is poison? Of course not

 And when we cant even established certain scientific truths like that....if we can't establish that fundamental understanding of how these things work, and instead that mom wants to start accusing me of killing my baby....no conversation can even be had. I just have to start nodding and find my way out of that exchange.

 Thats the kind of shit I was dealing with from FRIENDS in my mom circle when you and I had this arguement. I know it may be weird to think of Dovey sitting around with a group of moms talking about baby shit, nipple chaffing and vaccines but that was my life that year. Everyone went and watched that Vaxxed documentary and knew i was vaccinating my kids.  With the covid shot, people should have just had the truth. If the powers that be were not sure of the long-term impacts of the vaccine, just tell people that. Let them chose if they want to take that risk. People would have taken the risk. And they'd have known to watch for any issues they might as a result. I agree with you on transparency and freedoms and protecting people's dignity.

 We can handle being told "look this is what we know. We can make an educated guess on long term impacts, but we cant be certain so here is your risk" right? People deserve the truth.

 And when people dont get the truth or they trickle truths they start to mistrust the entire institution. When they refuse something like a vaccine and are met with bullying and measures meant to coerce them? It validates that mistrust.

 I was nervous and mistrusting of the covid shot myself. I got one, ONE. And it sure as fuck wasn't Pfizer or Moderna. I went with the J&J shot. The disabled adenoid shot and I only had it once. My man, who has MS and takes medication that lowers his immune system didnt get it because his actual doctor told him not to.

 So even with my positions on traditional vaccines we have had for decades I still dont trust the covid shot. And the more other people try to push or manipulate me into something the less likely I am to ever do it.
