I gotta An older Samsung 2016 model now about the size if an iPhone SE.
Works nice cept the battery life isnt all that great plus it doesn't access the Internet very quickly.
Can you suggest some android models around $100 or so with faster speeds and better battery life?
Even up to $200 is OK.
Btw size aint my concern. Actually the smaller the better.
Something which can fit into shirt pocket is the best
Efficiency more important to me than a humongous sized phone screen eh.
$100-$200? You kidding me Joe? You're very cheap. Try the Samsung A5

Last I heard, he's still running XP on a rusty prehistoric 0.001 GH machine from his cave

I never use the wifi connection..
I mean the 4G and phone call connection..
Sometimes the connection blocks go down to zero in the city area and it takes time for the phone to connect to another phone.
The 4G connection might disconnect depending whether the phone is in my pocket or in my hand.

That's unusual.....must be a defect.
Here's the solution.

I´m thinking it might also be the RFID protection in the case thats blocking the signal..
Sometimes when I open the case, the connection returns to normal.

Anyways I'll look it up.
I prefer a phone with a headphone jack.
Those new wireless phones w/o a jack don't always work with every device. Bluetooth doesn't always pick them up. Sometimes you need that phone cord to make the car stereo work.
While the A5 seems to have many of the features I like, one drawback is its size.
It seems like a rather large phone compared with the size I'm after:
https://www.phonearena.com/phones/size/Apple-iPhone-SE,Samsung-Galaxy-A5-2017/phones/10001,10297
Isn't there a phone slightly smaller than that, VancouverGuy?
Im after something small like an iphone 5/SE.
Those larger phones usually don't fit in the shirt or coat pockets

Thats gonna change next year Fashionista.
The province announced ridesharing will be introduced in September 2019.
I sure wouldn't buy a limo or a taxi plate from anyone with them comin in.
They're sure to undercut everyone already in the business driving rates down dramatically.
Btw do they have uber in Calgary and Edmonton?

If I am not driving, I take buses or the C-Train, never taxis or ride sharing.

I would never take an uber or lyft ride.
Maybe some of the drivers are good and experienced but chances are most of them aren't.
And then one has to consider how sturdy and safe the vehicle is.
And whether the vehicle has been inspected properly and the owner is uptodate in his/her maintenance and repairs.
I'd be concerned about all these inexperienced new drivers flooding the transportation market.
A new study has shown higher traffic fatality rates after ridesharing was introduced in many US cities.
https://youtu.be/DEltfh_bDhY
Uber & Luft vehemently deny the findings in the report.
But I think stands to reason because if there are too many inexperienced uber/lyft drivers going too fast, dont know the routes & stressed out because theyre driving to meet the demands of a computer app, more accidents will happen.
Its very stressful to drive according to an app because it penalizes the driver for every minute late or route the app does not approve of.

Whatever you say.
My advice to you is if yer gonna do uber, then get an inexpensive second car & run it into the ground not your good one.
And it wont be just one day a week cuz uber or lyft will pressure you to work longer hours than that.
Plus you gotta cover your car expenses, insurance gas.
And insuring a commercial vehicle is much more expensive than a consumer car.
That's probably why you'll end up working more than one day.
Just to cover your expenses in order to break even.
Like I say, get another car for that purpose if you can afford it & really intend to be an uber driver.
Keep your new personal car for yourself and intact.
Trash your uber car instead

Not quite true. While the East Indians have taken over the taxi business here, there are surprisingly still white limo drivers...

Best of luck! You shouldn't have a huge problem if you study the material and meet the prerequisites. I obtained commercial licence many years ago, but unless they've drastically changed the requirements since then, you should be OK...

Its gettin' toughrt, Mel.
Its all computerized adaptive testing now.
So what that means is if the test taker doesn't pass the exam the first time with 80%, the computer remembers that. So the next time the person takes the test, the computer peppers them with the kind of questions they missed.
I passes the road exam but failed the written test 2 times.
I got 79% but got snaggled by questions of what to do on animal crossing.
Most people fail the road test 1st time. That was the one thing, and the most expensive component I passed.
I never did fail the computer test, but you may be correct that the older test machines had no 'adaptive testing' capabilities.
