Adelaide's Motorsport Festival was held last weekend.



Lots of racing cars and motorcycles, from F1 to classic vintage racers.



I am aware that most, if not all of the members here are ignorant of the wonderful world of motorsport, but nonetheless I shall give you a glimpse into what you're missing!!!

The cars did a parade through the city streets on Friday evening...

This is Ivan Capelli driving his 1989 March F1. No helmet...he looks like your typical Italian just cruising in the sun. I printed this image out in hope I'd see him at the track over the weekend and get him to sign it. He did!!! So an autographed copy sits on my bar room wall.

A 1985 Toleman F1, sponsored by Benetton. The following year the team changed it's name to Benetton F1 and a few years later was joined by Michael Schumacher who won their first world championship.

If there had been a trophy for best sound, this would have won the "Tintop" category (the F1's have the sweetest sound).

I am ignorant of motorsport, but some of the cars are very pretty.
