China successfully landed a spacecraft on the far side of the moon Thursday, becoming the first country to ever land on the side of the moon that faces away from Earth, state news media said.

The US is faltering and will be surpassed by China. While the US and allies like Australia might keep China at bay in regards to Taiwan, I don't believe they can for the long haul.

My family has always hoped that Taiwan would change it's official name from Republic of China to Republic of Taiwan and make it's de facto independence de jure..
