Title: Outdoor pallet furnature
Post by: Berry Sweet on January 12, 2019, 09:12:20 PM
This is such a great idea! I have a large balcony and want a couch out there...the outdoor plastic couches are to pricey and not even good quality anyway.  I'm totally going to make these come spring!  Just gotta stack up on some pallets!

Oh most definitely.  I will probably paint it rustic looking as well.

I will have kids all over this no doubt, I dont want to be hearing about slivers.

Corners will also be protected by something, and that's mostly for me...I always manage to stub my toe or shin on a corner of firnature..which is why my couch and bed frames are all cushioned or legs raised in a hidden fashion and still cushioned.

I don't like this. In a picture, sure OK but in reality, I can see how you'd scrape you leg on the wooden edges and flames under a mattress?  Unsafe.

Oh, I dont like the while bed idea either....I just like the lights idea...good for the outdoor couch...its not actual candles that are lit, its string lights, totally safe.

I dont think anyone would be dumb enough to light a bunch of candles under there...so atleast I hope not.

That bed would not work for me, I'd trip on it constantly.

I like the idea of it tho, like you.

The bedhead looks great.

Keep searching the net for ideas,...It's chock-a-block full of them.

I got a locker and painted it red and used it to store rakes and shovels. The locker cost me $10 at an auction.

I am not familiar with pallet furniture. Looks decent.

This is the kind of bedroom that appeals to my senses.

I want windows to let in sunlight. I want a desk where I can write. I want a bench at the foot of the bed. I want some seating and end tables on both sides of the bed. Muted lighting. Rugs. I want a cloud of comforter to cover me.

This is my idea of outdoor furniture. I want to be able to dine on that surface and when we are done, we can light a fire.

May want to look on Craigslist. You can find some cheap ones there. I saw one company asking $2.00 each. Also saw some plastic ones that could be interesting. You could check on the prices of brand new ones and who knows it may be worth it for clean wood.

Have to be careful. If the pallets in Canada are like here they can be very rough and sanding may not do it all. May have to use a few coats of a polyurethane to cover the splinters.

The back is straight, my husband said you don't have straight backs like that, it's extremely uncomfortable....You might have to have long round cushioning.

That's what cushions and pillows are for.   I have a large balcony (which is pretty sweet, private too) large enough to sleep out there in the summer if I wanted to.  Kids are most likely to be all over it...they will be lying on it, using devices or just doing something.  I'm pretty laid back and chill so I like simple colourful things.

Only in Australia.   :laugh3:

No.  It's just wood slapped together.  I would have to sand it tho, its rough.

You can use the wood to build stuff.  I want a wooden box for balcony plants, herbs and some tomatoe plants. If the wood rots and get wrecked, just toss it at the end of the summer.

I've seen lots of ideas with pallets, and those plant hangers seem like a real good idea.

We have tons of pallets here, and if you were close by, I'd bring them to you lol. We use to have a guy here that would snag them once a year, but he died, and we have way too many. I use some for the fire pit, and others I have saved for picture frames.

Yeah, some pallets come in with a frame like board on top of the paper strapped down. I plan to have some poster size images printed, and use the wood to frame them with  ac_smile

Another friend of mine that worked here, took some pallets home, disassembled them, stained them, and nailed them to his bathroom wall, and gave it a real cool rustic look.

I used a bunch of pallets as a shelving system for the paper here I use too.

So many ideas on Pinterest too lol.

They use them on our large stacks of paper, to help hold them down, without ruining the paper on top.

I want to do that to my dining room wall...its open and connects to the living room.  But it's going to be the meditation and chakra area.

This would be cool if it was converted into a water fountain. .

This would be cool if it was converted into a water fountain. .

It was real cool. Even cooler is you have a spiritual room

What is that?

Any pictures?

Blazor is right a tranquil meditation room.  There is no certain way it has to look..mostly empty with some items that help calm...a mat, cushions, candles, Crystal's incense, oils or other devices or products a person may like to use, plants,  candles, string lights, pretty fabric, etc...everyone is different.  I'm not looking for a "high class" look, cause I dont care about money...I care about them feels...the vibes...

Right now all I have is a 50 gallon tank with a bearded dragon in it.  I have a purple yoga mat that I will use (I also have a massage table but it only comes out when needed, not left out at all times) but the room alone will have lots of floor pillows for a relaxing atmosphere.  My kid and her friends always ly on the floor, they will most likely study and do their homework there as well.

Here are some examples I personally have in mind for myself:

(//%3C/s%3E%3CURL%20url=%22https://i.pinimg.com/originals/08/52/5f/08525fe7a4cdb9d0f2b7232b0746142b.jpg%22%3E%3CLINK_TEXT%20text=%22https://i.pinimg.com/originals/08/52/5f%20...%2046142b.jpg%22%3Ehttps://i.pinimg.com/originals/08/52/5f/08525fe7a4cdb9d0f2b7232b0746142b.jpg%3C/LINK_TEXT%3E%3C/URL%3E%3Ce%3E)

These are just examples...I like the colourful pillows, lights and flowy material.  The colours make me happy.

Other people may just want an empty room period with a buddha in the corner. (Which I find boring).  As time goes by and I fix up the room, I'll PM you a pic of it :)

Nice! I have a small black tourmaline crystal I carry in my pocket when I go out.  I also wear a cross too.  Sometimes I bring a small rose quartz with me too.  I'm seriously warding off all that negative energy!!

Actually, they have a huge ass pile next door where I work.  I'm going to go ask them later what they gonna do with them all.  If they allow me to take as many as I want, I will take them home one at a time in my car everyday, unless mama comes to my work and takes some more for me.  Not sure if it will fit in my car tho...I'd have to put the back seat down and try put in thru the trunk...

My balcony is L shaped and has a perfect larger area for this couch, all sheltered....it will be a good place to also smoke my midnight doobie.  I shall perhaps call it the "Blazor Area" or some other funky name....I can make a sign and everything...why not?  :Ghelyon:

My balcony is L shaped and has a perfect larger area for this couch, all sheltered....it will be a good place to also smoke my midnight doobie.  I shall perhaps call it the "Blazor Area" or some other funky name....I can make a sign and everything...why not?  :Ghelyon:

I love it!!!

I "think" a while back I posted a sign that my niece made. This is not it, but pretty much what it says, and hangs over my bar area lol.

Lord of the Rings was brilliant

The Hobbit was simply greater than this world... I have the collection AND the 100s of hours on how they actually made the 3 movies The Hobbit. I wished I was married to Peter Jackson... he is the greatest director EVER...

If you ever get a chance to see what went into making the sets and so on, watch it... It is mind blowing.  There is over 30 hours worth of EVERYTHING...

Personally, I liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy better vs the Hobbit one, but I liked them all. The Hobbit they used too much character CGI, when LotRs used more actual people dressed in costume. Thats my only complaint

No way is LoTR better than The Hobbit.

I loved that Lee Pace as the Elvenking... He was HAWT, real eye candy.

I bought the Extended Edition.... very good value for money where I come from...

Ahhh, so its the eye candy you like

I really liked 'em both, they are my top movies, I just wish they treated Hobbit like they did LotRs CGI wise.

Are you excited for the LotRs series that are about to hit Amazon?

As far as the series, its still somewhat hush hush. But they have officially signed on a 5 season deal. Rumor has it that they will go back pre Lord of the Rings, and focus on characters lives before. Rumor was also it would be about the Silmarilion, but I hear that may wind up being a movie. Have you read Silmarilion? Its like the beginning, up to Hobbit. Reminded me of mythology to a degree at first as far as the creation, with a Tolkien twist.

If I recall, the Silmarillion doesn't have hobbitses, orcses and Nazguls...

It is not a complete narrative, and should never have been published in the predeveloped and precipitate form that it was.

It was a more a formative framework from which later stories would flow, and very difficult to read, far too complex and far too celtic.

However, it does provide a rich source of inspiration and characters for new tales to be woven from.

I've only read the Hobbit.

Years ago one of my puppy owners gave me copies of LoTR and the Hobbit but I couldn't get into it and gave it back...

then the Lotr trilogy came out and I went to the movies for 3 years to watch them... I was instantly hooked so then I wanted to read The Hobbit. My neighbour gave me their copy and it was old, the pages were breaking away as I turned them....lol

Then when the Hobbit went to DVD, I bought the Extended Edition set and I've been nuts about the show ever since. That was where my future should have been... on sets, designing them or helping to design them... but alas, my life went in another direction.

See what they can do I guess but sometimes they ruin things thinking they can make a buck out of it and it ends up a box office flop.

It did not have Hobbits, but had a ton of orcs. The Nazguls had not been created yet, remember they were the human kings that were corrupted with the 9 rings. Sauron was also only a captain, of the dark lord Melkor, who was more mighty than Sauron.

I'll admit, it was a hard read the first round, much easier to read the 2nd time, also when combined with Unfinished Tales. They really should of combined Unfinished Tales into the Silmarilion. I too did not like how it was kinda thrown together by his son. Was way too much crammed into the Sil too.

I had no interest in reading them, til after the movies came out, I was hooked too lol. I have extended editions of both Hobbit and LotRs too. If you really liked them, you MUST read them. So much more in the books, and the ending will blow your mind!

Thats cool, I feel my future should of been on set too, acting lol. No joke! I've dreamed it forever.

My brother had an app on his phone, and he took some vids of me and him where we were drinking and playing around in LotRs costumes, and made a pretty good vid of it. Hell I thought my son was taking pictures, nope was recording the whole time lol.
