What kind of fish is that in the first picture Dinky?
It's a small Murray Cod.
They can grow to over 100 kg in the right conditions and outlive a human being. They're especially tasty.
I didn't get any keeper sizes this trip. Just lots of juveniles that had to be thrown back.

The mouth of rivers are salty if they end in the sea which the Murry does.
Won't get cod at the mouth. More like small sharks and carp.
Murray Cod are distinctly inland fish.
