Title: Beaded gecko

A cute little Australian lizard...very small. They can run vertically as fast as they run on level ground. This one was about 7cm.



Good to have around as they eat bugs.

I used to kill geckos when I was a neb abroad. That changed when I heard that ate mosquitos.

They may serve a purpose, but I wouldn't want them around my house let alone in it.

They're cute as buttons and eat mosquitos.



Some in other countries encourage them to live in the house to control the bugs.

Taiwan has tiny mosquito eating lizards.

My father always told the story of how he ate the supposedly top notch hotel's restaurant salad when in Nigeria during the 70's and developed a rather nasty case of dysentery. They put a large lizard in each room for mosquitos and he'd wake up when not curled up in a sweaty ball to see a pair of eyes reflecting the moonlight coming through the window screen. He reckoned it was nearly two foot long.

I LOVE Geckos... I love the the shape of their little fingers





We have heaps of geckos and skinks at my place.
