We are advised by our news service that our effete and delicate Government proposes to bar raconteur and right wing activist (one of the few) Milo Yiannopolous from entering Australia for a series of public talks (again...he was here last year).
On his last tour, the rabble gathered outside his venue in Melbourne to "protest". The Victorian Police then sent Milo a bill for their presence because it was HIS fault the socialists were rioting in the street.
Wisely, Milo refused to pay.
However, on yet another attack on freedom of speech, this time they want to keep him out. Consequently, I have sent the letter below to the relevant Federal Government minister.
"Dear Minister...I refer to your reported intent to refuse a visa application submitted by Milo Yiannopolous to enter Australia for the purposes of conducting a series of public talks. As one of the (apparently) many Australians incapable of rational thought, let alone judgment and common sense, I am grateful to you for protecting me against ideas and speech that may cause me to question the policies and social management of the government. I cannot imagine how conflicted and disharmonious I would become if I were to hear dissenting opinions and viewpoints to that of the government imposed status quo. Clearly, too many ideas and too much contradiction will lead to the collapse of Australian society. Thank you also for protecting me from potential civil disruption by enlightened academics, unionists and socialist activists whose activities (despite being unlawful) cannot be disrupted. It is clear that only these dissidents are qualified to tell us what to think.
Now that I am aware that only the rabble have a valid reason to be concerned about how our society is managed and how social issues should be resolved, I can cease thinking for myself. I shall sleep much easier knowing that my cogitations and concerns are being taken care of.
Finally, I do hope my letter to you does not contravene any freedom of speech legislation. I would hate to cause offence."

Is Maxine Waters barred from Aus? If not, she should be if Milo is barred.

				Dunno.
Don't think she's ever tried to visit.

Don't think she's ever tried to visit.
Something tells me, she would not be barred. She does advocate violence.

Let the little fairy speak in Australia. I mean Milo, not Ms Peaches.

I have neither desire nor intent to attend his dissertations.
However, I am increasingly angry at the constant attempt to stifle speakers from the right, while leftist rabble rousers, muslim clerics, unionists, feminists and aboriginal activists are free to spew their hatred.
Freedom of speech is far more important than who is speaking.
I would be just as agitated if a socialist was barred, merely for being a socialist.
We have a world renowned holocaust denier here in Adelaide. He talks a lot of crap, and has been arrested for speaking his mind. I am disturbed by the principle of stifling speech you don't like.

I think it's dangerous for governments to decide who gets to speak and who doesn't..
Unless of course they are advocating violence.

Milo can be pretty funny. A lot of people try to take him too literally.

I don't know much about him, but I see no reason why he should be barred..
In North America, violent people try to attack him, not the other way around.

The Left hates him...and he thrives on it.
That does not mean he has no right to speak.
Quite the opposite.
No reply from the idiot Minister yet.

This is one of the biggest changes in the left --they used to be strong defenders of free speech, now they are its biggest threat.

That was the first big antifa riot that I remember in the US.  The lefties decided because Milo was speaking at Berkeley that entitled them to set fires and beat people.  The local leftist mayor told the police to stand down and not arrest anyone so the antifa goons would get away with it.

He's a calamari eating wog boy, who cares what he thinks?
sincerely,
Your government

The point is not who cares what he thinks, the point is government has no business censoring or banning people unless they break the law.  If they can ban him from speaking, what's to stop them from banning someone you do like?  Nothing.

				Quote from: "Wazzzup"
Exactly.

I don't care... the "banning" gets him free publicity..
I've never heard of him, now I have sadly.
Regardless of him being a right whinger, he sounds like another SJW... Whoopie, just what our planet needs, another rotten pollie.
You have to remember, I wish for all politicians to be gassed. It makes no difference what side of politics they're on.
Let me tell you about what natural born Australians like myself, actually THINK.... number 1, we don't like big mouths coming to our country telling us what to think...
number 2, read number 1.

The police do not have the money for extra staff to chaperone wog boy... they're busy rounding up Somalis and Sudanese keeping them out of jewelry shops and raping innocent Australian citizens.

The cops should send the bill for any extra policing associated with his visit to the Antifa and other well financed SJW groups who use violence to prevent him from speaking. Those SJW groups have sugar daddies with deep pockets.

Milo's a gas. He has chutzpah to spare.
But, Leo, you wrote your letter in a sarcastic vein. Don't you realize sarcasm is lost on politicians? They're a humourless bunch.

I can't stand most SJWs but I believe they have a right to speak.  That's how it works in a free society.
If the government can stop them or anyone else from speaking they can stop you from speaking as well.  Do you think the government should be able to say "Even though Caskur didn't break any laws, we don't like Caskur's opinions so she should be silenced?"

That's happened to me on fb... banned from two groups so I started my own.
I don't really care. I may have at one time cared. No law can really stop me because I will make sure I find a way around it/laws. I'm not scared of the government or the courts.

				Well, you should be.

				He is really annoying...
There is no need to resort in the baby-talk.
But the things he says are correct...
And the ones who talk against him even use Rachel Maddow as some kind of non-biased source.

Islamic mullahs calling for the destruction of Israel, and lauding the brutality of terrorists are annoying. A young, gay raconteur offering alternate views to leftist dogma is either entertaining or provocative, depending on the colour of your cloth.

Last time I was fined was 1998 when I was taking my tyre over to K-Mart to get fixed and the spare was on... I got pulled over in a cop blitz who went over my car and said my tyre was bald... I said it's the spare and I'm on my way to get the usual one fixed. He saw my new tyre on it's way to K-Mart and said, "doesn't matter, the spare has to be a good tyre too"... technically that was Kurts fault using a worn tyre for my spare... But I recieve a $25 fine...
Did that make me ropeable with the cops? Hell yes. That was 1 month after my house burned down... They couldn't find the known arsonist but they sure as hell could fine me $25 for a worn spare....
oh yes, I was really endeared to cops over that...
I hate authority ESPECIALLY when they act unjustly. To me they're on par with crims.

Some, (not sure if it was pollies or police) told people just don't go to his speeches...
But you see, news has been slow in Australia so far this year and the rioters and press will want to gate crash his events. It's a fun chance to shake-up the sheeple.
I hate contrived news. It's very obvious it's all contrived.
