Kickstarter is no longer a means for innovation to find its way to general availability. It seems more a venue for idiocy to try to scam its way into making money with ideas nobody wants or needs.
Take THIS shining example of trite and useless gadgetry.

Now, if only the ball were an interactive glass of whiskey.
Seniors would exercise with a smile, too.

If it's a bad idea, people won't invest.

Are we being ageist, Monsieur?
Mock not the aged, sunshine...for you will be joining them all too soon.

The money people waste on their pets. I should talk, our cat has a closet full of toys.
Our Bichon cost well over $10,000 in vet bills before he passed away.

That is terrible Bricktop..
My husband and I are discussing putting down our dog..
She's very old and has so many health problems.
He developed diabetes and lost his sight.
We could not put him down, because otherwise he was happy and active.
So we had his eyesight restored...and had to treat his diabetes.
I won't spend money on vet bills for dogs.
We're very attached to our pooches.

I feel your pain Fash, it's always sad to lose a member of the family  About 10 years ago I once had to put one of my birds to sleep, eventually I got depressed to a level I failed to pay attention on the road and hit my car to a sidewalk curb, messed up the front bumper and popped a tire, good thing I didn't got anyone else involved, and the car only suffered minor damages.

It's one of the problems with being poor...not being able to care for your pets.
Not an issue of wealth. It's impractical to spend money on a pet with major issues. We don't view it as sound policy. Better to keep the animal happy as possible then put it down when necessary.

City people are a different breed.
There must be rural people that treat their pets like family members.

Dunno. I see a lot of city people dressing their pets up, taking them to pet salons, carrying them around like babies, feeding them gourmet artesian deli and sea goods, and driving their agistment patch horses around for Sunday drives; and I know who the pets really are.

Really?
Why?
Owning a pet makes you responsible for its health and welfare.
If you can't afford it, don't buy a pet.
And don't pull this bullshit about being a "country boy". You're no farmer, son.
If a pet has major health issues, it is taken care of.
Either in a deeply dug hole sporting a frozen pork chop or in a cardboard box hooked up to a hose leading to a tail pipe.
Both are humane and expedient methods to put an animal out of its misery.
I would expect no less from a demented twerp such as yourself.
Idc what you think or expect.
Be the master, not the pet.
Being a master does not mean you kill those that no longer meet your requirements or expectations.
But what would you know about being a master? You've been a follower for all the years I've known you.
Animal husbandry is a responsibility.
I'm sorry...but you trying to discuss the issue of responsibility is like Hilary Clinton discussing email security.
You're not sorry and you don't understand responsible animal ownership. They are not people. No matter how much you may pretend they are.

I agree Bricktop.
I agree to an extent as well but there are limits like I suggested in major health issues.
I'm not wheeling a pet around in a wheelchair, emptying its colostomy bag, and hand feeding it sardines. I don't with Bricktop and I'm not about to start with the four legged varieties.
