Despite so long off his game he passed Palmer and is now second (by one) only to Nicklaus for Maters titles and only 3 behind Nicklaus for total Major Tournament wins .. .and that's with a lost decade
I was really down on Tiger for a long time but still did admire how good he " had been " especially when the chips are down (his forte)
We watched him play alongside our backyard in Philippines in 96 - 97 .. poetry in motion .. he may well be back on track to prove he is the best ever .. and after not giving up on himself after a decade of being degraded (including by us) ..
I'm happy for him and actually pulled for him all through today's match knowing he was "back" and would take and hold the lead
He's a "tiger" again!!!

I sure did see it. Tiger is the comeback king and the tiger is back again. This time overcoming persistent back pain.
Even when he was going through his personal problems, I remained a fan of Tiger Woods, the athlete.

One was against 3 Filipinos but the one we were there during was an All Asia Invitational for the 4 best Asian players (in 97 or 98) which we saw (Tiger is 1/2 Asian so qualified)
One of his competitors that I remember was Isio Aoki of Japan. I was wrong about Mo Norman - that was later and another event
LOL, we watched them go by our yard each day, including balls almost in our backyard and on TV at the same time
The young Tiger won of course - what else is new ?

Some years ago, an Australian director made a movie in Australia and toured the country talking about the film. He was an established director who had also done a number of Hollywood movies, including one featuring Harrison Ford.
When asked whether he preferred Australia or Hollywood in which to film, he stated empahtically "Australia. No-one here refuses to start filming until his personal on-set trailer is BIGGER than everyone elses, like Harrison Ford".
