The first snowfall of winter for Edmonton usually arrives in October, but can show up as early as September or even August.
The season's last snowfall typically happens in April or May although in some years a late snow lands in June.
Only in July is Edmonton is normally free of snow every year.
We're still waiting for our first snowfall.

They typically get hotter summers than Calgary because they are lower elevation..
Medicine Hat is the hottest city in Alberta in the summer.

I read the city of Edmonton which is a long way from the fires has poor air quality today because of the forest fire smoke.
I saw on the news that Northern Alberta had lots of rain over the weekend. Should help contain the forest fires.
Not sure.how Alberta is doing but the smoke in Vancouver has cleared. For now.

Cooler temperatures and rainfall have helped.
More rain is needed to bring the bigger fires to an end.
It's been cooler than normal so far this late spring in Central Ontario.
