actually the US should offer heakthcare to everyone inckuding non citizens & even illegals ...but make them pay for it at a higher rate than us citizens. that could help subsidize their healthcare system, eh.

Uhh no. It's due to the expanding homeless problem. People living in tents on the sides of the freeways, downtown LA's skid row, etc. Rodents carry typhoid fever and the homeless are living amongst them.

Any blood sucking insect is going to spread disease.

All these diseases spread through entire communities in 1800s and world wars.

There is a war on now... leftists and dumb arsed right whingers who do not realize if you don't take care of poverty, their diseases are going to kill your children.

Had typhoid when living in Philippines. Was getting very dehydrated and weak. Fortunately our residence community had on site med crew who spotted it, took me to their place and gave me antibiotic and water drip. Would have likely been a goner without their diagnosis and help as we had no idea what to do or that it was so dangerous if not correctly and quickly treated

Conditions (constant diarrhea)  came on very rapidly

It recurred a year later and once more but we knew what med to take (and stocked it) and stopped it cold

Not sure. Most locals have antibodies.

Sewage running in gutter etc. in some places doesn't seem to affect locals but  is a setup for some foreigners

Whether deliberate or overflow because of insufficient capacity, we did often see it running in gutters in several places

It doesn't seem to affect locals or "all" ex pats .. but it almost did me in. Fortunately we lived in a compound that had good help once hubby called on it

QuoteIn October, LA Mayor Garcetti promised to clean up the heaps of rat-infested trash piling up around Los Angeles to help combat the Typhus epidemic.

Even though the Mayor allocated millions of dollars to help clean up the streets in LA, especially Skid Row, known as "the Typhus Zone," there are still mountains of trash everywhere and the infectious disease is worsening.

Several months ago the large piles of trash were cleared out, but the problem is back and much worse than before.

Last fall, typhus began spreading across the homeless population through fleas that live on the rats that rummage through the trash and Liz Greenwood, the Deputy City Attorney who works at City Hall contracted the disease.

This has the makings of a health crisis unprecedented in modern times.

A typhus epidemic will kill children and the elderly.

It should not happen in a modern, first world nation.

Something is very wrong in the US if an outbreak takes hold.

Yeah, sounds like its homelessness, and a government leaving trash all over the streets. From what I understand it several cities in CA let the homeless crap all over the sidewalks and they do nothing about it.

This was a prior story about homeless people defecating in the streets in LA county, leading to a hepatitis outbreak.

That's the problem with billionaires the prog ones who use their money to influence and direct government policy.  From what I've seen nearly all of them are for open borders.

If a billionaire creates jobs and pays his  or her employees reasonably, invests their money, and gives some money to legitimate charities, that's a good thing.  If a billionaire spends their money on frivolous things like thousand dollar bottled wines and private jets that's not as much (although it might help keep wine distributors and jet makers in business)  Billionaires using their money to influence government policy is a very bad thing.

That aside, however you may feel about billionaires, joe's and your idea that billionaires not sharing is the biggest cause of homelessness is utterly stupid and utterly ignorant of free market economics and human psychology.

That aside, however you may feel about billionaires, joe's and your idea that billionaires not sharing is the biggest cause of homelessness is utterly stupid and utterly ignorant of free market economics and human psychology.

you're an idiot and there isn't anything wrong with Joe's posts...

 fuck off loser!~

That's the problem with billionaires the prog ones who use their money to influence and direct government policy.  From what I've seen nearly all of them are for open borders.

IMO There's nothing wrong with people having money, its about what they do with it.

In theory, I agree..

In general, I find tech billionaires the least impressive..

Most are overtly political and are the most likely to send jobs overseas, but that's just my opinion.
