I would love it very much if I could grow bougainvilleas here in my home in northern America. They grew everywhere in my fatherland. I would love to see them grow over our fence.

Sadly my mum died last year.



My stepfather took out all her bogainvilleas out down the side and SEVERELY hacks up the front ones...



It's tough stuff. It grows back with a vengence.

I'm on the coast and Jarrahdale is in The Darling Ranges... the hills... we don't have mountains.

Not native to Australia but in my garden are clusters of Bromeliads native to Mexico all the way down to Brazil. billbergia it has a fair few flowers on it this year.

so , I am driving along and I thought I saw some WA native Donkey Orchids and they were not Donkey Orchids after all but, Ixis. Just beautiful and native to South Africa.
