Ok, so this O' Rourke fucker says "hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15s" and thats all ok, but when this guy named Cain says "my AR is ready for you", and all of a sudden hes under FBI investigation, Twitter removed his tweet for inciting violence, and the snowflakes are in an uproar. How is that any different than O' Rourke's threat!? To come take my property! (I dont own an AR btw). How is this any different than "when you pry them from my cold dead hands". Bunch of whiney snowflakes. They like to throw a punch, and then cry when a punch is returned.

Yup said at debate.
Wow what a leader lol.
Hes a flip flopping fucker, more of that "not for you but ok for me" crowd.
However, O'Rourke had a much different stance when he was running for Senate. During an interview on "The Chad Hasty Show" in April 2018, the host asked: "I own an AR-15. A lot of our listeners out there own AR-15s. Why should they not have one?"
"To be clear, they should have them," O'Rourke responded. "If you purchased that AR-15, if you own it, keep it. Continue to use it responsibly."
He added later in the same interview: "If you own a gun, keep that gun. Nobody wants to take it away from you — at least I don't want to do that."

"We've had three CIA agents, retired, and some of their analytical associates look at it, and all came to the same conclusion, that even the long-form was a forged document," Vallely said.
In a detailed analysis, a nationally recognized computer expert who has served as contributing author and technical editor for more than 100 books on Adobe and Microsoft software says the Obama long-form birth-certificate image released by the White House is a fake.
"The PDF file released by the White House contains evidence of manipulation suggesting that one or more forgers utilized existing Hawaiian birth certificates to assemble fraudulently for Barack Obama a document the president presented to the world as authentic," Mara Zebest told WND.

I think I can help you here.
One is implying that he intends to take someone's property. It's not clear whether or not he intends to do so lawfully, but given he is a politician we can safely assume he intends to introduce legislation that bans certain firearms, and the possess ion of said firearms without a proper licence will lead to confiscation.
The other replies with a warning that he is prepared to resist that confiscation with his firearm, in other words he is threatening to use that firearms in order to maintain his possession. As it is an AR 15, it can safely be deduced that use that firearm is likely to lead to serious injury or death.
So, you see, one is NOT the same as the other. One is a death threat, the other a political position.
It is an interesting feature of the American mentality that equates the taking of property with the taking of life.

What is the need to own an AR-15 if you are not going to shoot your enemies in a world war? If I were the leader of a country, I would not want my citizens owning this kind of weapon. For what? What are you going to use it for? Hunting rifles will be okay but assault rifles don't seem to belong in the hands of mere citizens but soldiers at war.
Maybe the answer is to ban bullets. One can own the cool rifle of their choice but they can only shoot with toy bullets. I am a mother so this is my opinion on the matter because I would not want my sons to get a hold of an AR-15. I will not approve of it.

Birds, hare.. The small game.

Semi-auto, bolt-action etc. rifles go into the hunting/sports category.
But full-autos go into a different category.
You can have one as a private citizen but it is not as easy as getting a semi-auto.
There is no "total ban" for anything..
Everything is legal if you can explain the need.
I wonder how long that would last if Finland experienced a mass shooting incident. Hypothesis only, as Finland is a relatively stable, calm, sensible and placid society.

I get what you are saying Azhya, but this is where some of the confusion comes in, the AR-15 is not an assault weapon. You have to pull the trigger each time you want to fire it. Only the military has assault weapons, the ability to hold the trigger down for constant firing. Assault weapons have been banned here for a long time, and would require a special license and high fees etc to own one. The AR-15 "looks" big and scary because of the clip.

There is no confusion.
The AR-15 shares many characteristics with it's assault weapon bigger brother, in particular it's ability to cause lethal injuries. The American government banned full autos and so the AR 15 was modified to semi-auto...still capable of rapid firing.
But that's OK. Because they still allowed a cheap modification called a bump stop that effectively enabled it to be full auto.

The whole bump stock thing is just clownish..
The gun is still semi-auto.
You just install a loose stock that goes back and forth from recoil..
You pull the trigger once and then rest your finger on some plastic cover..
The trigger hits your resting finger as the gun moves back and forth.. Creating the "automatic fire" effect.

I should look for a video of bump stock action.
Here you go.

And what is "effective" in the context of a firearm?
"The right to bear arms." This needs to be evaluated regarding who can bear arms.
It also needs to be evaluated in the historical context that this absurd "right" was proclaimed.

Well, as they are satisfying no-one, and bad people get guns anyway, why not simply have open slather? Think of the money the gun makers will make, and the money the government will save on firearms administration. And everyone will be SAFE because everyone has a GUN!!!

Sept. 19 (UPI) -- AR-15 manufacturer Colt announced Thursday that it will halt the production of rifles for consumers.
The Connecticut-based firearm manufacturer said the consumer market for rifles has "experienced significant excess manufacturing capacity," leaving a sufficient amount available for purchase.
"Given this level of manufacturing capacity, we believe there is adequate supply for modern sporting rifles for the foreseeable future," Colt President and CEO Dennis Veilleux said.
Veilleux added that Colt's contracts with the military and law enforcement still present demand for rifles.
"Currently, these high-volume contracts are absorbing all of Colt's manufacturing capacity for rifles," he said.
He also reaffirmed the company's support for the Second Amendment and said it will expand its network of dealers and continue to produce pistols and revolvers.

There is this legendary case here where a man wasted several police officers with a bolt-action rifle.
Submachine guns lack the range of a rifle... They are crap in anything other than CQC.
Anyhow... The president pardoned the shooter because the cops were being stupid..
You shouldnt attack a guys house when he is feeling emotionally unstable.
You force him to kill you.

1 dead and several seriously injured. Most of them are women. The 1 dead is a young woman.
Shit!
And to make matters worse..
Tuns out the one death was a 15 year old ukrainian girl.
Do you think Finland and Ukraine should go to war for this?
:pop:
Herman probably does.
The attacker was heavily bullied... Since elementary school.
It can be really severe..
The group harasses this one kid all the time, every day... He cant do anything without being harassed..
Coming to school is hellish.

Open slather? I'll bring the biscuits if you bring the butter
I would totally be down for an annual Purge night
That could be interesting, but let's not have it at Beltane when more important activities beckon us.
Beltane, May day festival?
Yes, the very same. Isn't that the night where everyone gets a pass to hook up with their neighbor, or even someone from the next county?
Yeah, save the Purge night for one of the other festivals ...maybe Samhain.
I didnt know that lol, but call me curious lol. Though I'll pass on my neighbors lol.
Samhain we cant have Purge night either, as thats my favorite holiday lol. Both Beltane and Samhain are PERFECT times of year. Hmmmm, lets have Purge night on Black Friday

That is fair.
Trudeau thinks he has a game changer with more gun control, but polling tells us his advisors are wrong.
Voters sour on plan
Trudeau gun control promises firing blanks
It seemed an odd choice, Justin Trudeau spent two precious days in the middle of an election campaign holding events in Toronto and speaking on an issue he should own — gun control. Now we may know why.
Polling on how canadians view gun crime in canada and gun control promises from politicians shows that the majority of canadians — in all regions of the country, across party lines and among men and women — are cynical of what is on offer.
When asked about the source of shootings, 80% of canadians agreed with the statement that
"gun violence and shootings are mainly committed by gangs or criminals with handguns smuggled into the country from across the border."
That compares to just 20% who believed "gun violence comes mainly from guns that have been stolen from or used by vetted and licensed handgun owners."
The findings are part of the dart & Maru/blue Voice canada Poll conducted for the Toronto Sun.
There was barely a difference between men and women with 81% of men agreeing that the problem is from gangs using smuggled guns while 78% of women said the same.
When it comes to fighting gun crime, canadians are not on the same page as the Trudeau Liberals. a full 81% of canadians said the government "should channel most of their efforts into pursuing those using handguns smuggled in from over the border," as opposed to cracking down on licensed gun owners.
In Ontario, the battleground of this election, 87% said the government should focus on smuggled guns.
"People know that when you're hunting bear, you don't get distracted by rabbit tracks. handgun violence is exactly the same," pollster John Wright said.
"People know efforts to stop violence have to be apportioned properly and right now they see the greatest commitment needed is to smuggled guns from across the border and their associated crimes and little else. When politicians speak otherwise, they see it as wrong headed."
That's not good news for the governing Liberals.
For Trudeau to win this election, he needs to win among women and he needs to win in Ontario and when it comes to his gun control policies — something he spent much of his week on — his message is falling flat.
In fact, when given two options, one that said politicians cracking down on licensed and vetted gun owners was the right thing and one that said it was smoke and mirrors, the majority didn't buy Trudeau's line.
On that issue, 71% agreed with the statement that, "it's just smoke and mirrors and pretending to get at the real contributors to gun violence and crimes so they can get votes."
If votes are the reason for this policy, it isn't working.
In the face of rising gun crime in cities across canada, but in Toronto in particular, Trudeau has promised to allow municipalities
to ban handguns but rejected a national ban. he has also promised a full national ban on the ar-15 rifle, and rifles like it.
There are 75,000 ar-15s registered with the rcmp — restricted firearms are still part of a registry — and the Liberals have said they plan on banning and buying back 250,000 rifles at a cost of $600 million or more.
The problem is, these are not the guns that are claiming victims on canadian streets. While Trudeau points to mass shootings in the united states where the ar-15 has been the weapon used, that isn't the case in canada. Our much stricter gun control laws are vastly different from the united states.
Trudeau hoped that he would be able to campaign on fear of guns, but for the most part, it doesn't look like that campaign is working.
conducted on sept.
30, 2019, the poll of 1,520 randomly-selected canadian adults — all members of a Maru/blue online panel — is considered accurate to within 2.9%, 19 times out of 20.

This should make Bricktop happy. Dicks Sporting goods has decided to destroy $5 million worth of AR-15s and "assault rifles". Although Assault rifles are banned anyway, and an AR15 you have to pull the trigger each time you want to shoot it. Wondering if this company even knows what it is selling. They have also pulled guns from 125 of their stores. As well as changed ammo purchases from 18 to 21 years of age.

Yes, from now on, I will associate Dick's with the guy being a dick lol.
One of the latest shootings, the guy had a shotgun (which wasnt used), but was sold to him by Dicks. Dicks got pressure, and decided to pull the plug thinking it would help with publicity in my opinion. This will backfire on them big time. Article I was reading, everyone was like "I aint shopping there anymore". The only reason I ever went there before was for hunting stuff, not anymore, Sportsman gets my business.

When I was in the Force and Army, we had the opportunity to fire off a lot of different firearms, including older models from Thompsons, Uzis, Owens and Schmeisser MP40's from WW2.
The MP40 was hands down the best sub machine gun we fired. The Thompson and Uzi were "fire and hope" firearms, the Owens jammed constantly but the MP40 was smooth, accurate and had little recoil. Not much use after about 50 metres, to be honest, but few submachine guns are.
If I was to have the need for a submachine gun I would pick the MP40 any day.

They were weird like that lol. Thought it devalued the gun, which is true, but if you never intend to sell it, why not. I've fired all my guns multiple times.
It does but you buy a gun for shooting...
I always want to test fire the gun.

Thanks, if I remember, I'll post a pic of it in the wooden case my grandad made for it. The thing is 60 years old I think, and never been fired! Looks mint. Chamber has a nice spin to it.

I havent bought a fishing license in years, but loved fishing as a kid.
Here you dont need a gun license, unless you carry concealed, then you need a conceal permit.
A hunting license is required to hunt, but they make you pay for each thing you hunt with pretty much or what you hunt (big game, bow, state forest, muzzle, etc). If I get my license this year, it will cost me $70.

I prefer the AK-47 and its variants..
Far more reliable..
And I think American reviews of the AK-47 are biased..
They dont even try to wield it tactical style.
And the myth of the AK-47 being inaccurate is bullshit.... Americans dont know how to shoot.
I have always shot with RK-62 or AK-47 and I havent noticed any lacking on the accuracy..

Hey now! Not all of us! lol
Especially around my neck of the woods, lot of accurate riflemen.
Long ago, my friend had an AK47, had the attachment to make it fully auto, he basically gave it away. Wish I had been of age to buy it at the time.

I mostly agree with you. I've been familiar with both the Kalashnikov and Stoner families of weapons, and frankly I'm un-American enough to hold a strong bias for the former.
I have to quibble about "accuracy" though. Both designs are considered to have a practical effective range of 300m, whereas the long-range shooters I sometimes hang out with like to shoot in the 400-600 meter range. Both the 5.56 and the 7.62x39 are ballistically unsatisfactory at such ranges.
I've never owned a modern military rifle or assault rifle, and few long guns for that matter. I'm more of a city boy living in a semi-rural area where there are few opportunities for long-rang shooting.
Hunting for food is not cruel
Where's the beef?
Out in the Canadian woods, apparently.
Blog TO (and freshdaily) want you to have a nervous breakdown because hunters are posting pictures of their kill — mostly deer — now that hunting season is upon us.
Let's not take that bait, people. Canadian hunters have mouths to feed.
What was it Gary Dunford used to say? Everybody wants a hamburger, but nobody wants to see the meat grinder ... something like that.
Nobody wants to know about killing the cow and removing the hide and butchering the meat, etc. Yergh!! Pass the ketchup.
If you eat meat, you can't really argue that hunting and posting pictures of the kill are offensive. Every hunter responding in high dudgeon to blogto made it clear that hunting puts food on the table — a protein source most claimed to be superior to the meat from factory farmed animals available at your local grocery store.
Many hunters responded by pointing out the need to cull the deer herd (now that natural predators are on the wane) while others wrote about the conservation work done by hunters and fishers.
Some people referenced cultural norms; others spoke about life outside the big city.
The one thing nobody mentioned was hunting for the sake of killing things, which most would agree is some kind of abomination.
Why would anyone hunt and kill an elephant or a giraffe or a wild cat?
Rule of thumb: If you can't eat it, don't kill it. Photos of the Eric and Donnie Trump Jr. (or anyone else) with dead animals they've shot for 'sport' are a good reminder of the many connections between cruelty to animals and cruelty to people. Is this the right place to mention that many infamous serial killers got their start in childhood, killing neighbourhood cats and dogs?
Anyone who is cruel to animals is suspect.
As for posing with the bloody dead deer you just killed and posting that photo on social media, yeah — that's not something everyone can get behind. It's kind of gross if that's not your thing.
On the other hand, does anyone really want to see pictures of your car, or your lunch, or your naked bum? They do not, but these photos are also posted by people on the regular. So chacun son gout, which is one of those fancy French phrases that is difficult to translate but more or less means everyone likes his own goat best.
If it bothers you that people eat deer at all — Bambiiii! — remember that the Chinese, Italians and Mexicans (among many others) eat horse meat and Koreans and Nigerians eat dog.
North Americans eat spareribs from a dear, smart, pink little piggie but would never, ever eat Fido! Go figure.
In New Guinea, the Biyani and Korowai tribes allegedly still eat people.
Let's hope they have no access to social media.

I wish I would've had somewhere to go hunt this year, but the friends that mentioned it in the summer never got back with me during season. Fuckers. lol
My gf is one of those "protect the deer" libs. While I understand that, I would much rather see a deer on a plate than dead on the side of the highway. Too many deer equals more dead on the highway. Also she eats cow, which I think get treated much more cruelly than a deer. At least I say a prayer upon the deer I take down.
I have never been a hunter, but I don't have a problem with it. I fish. What's the diff.

I already went down that road with you on another forum...The AK is a pig when it comes to accuracy as compared to ANY US service rifle. At long range the 7.62x39 is no match for the 5.62 NATO round. The ballistics simply do not bare out your claims... Most service Kalashnikov style rifles can barely hold 4" at 100 meters. It's combat accurate at best and that is what they are designed to be. The AKs I have handled are sloppy and put together with cheap stamped parts. They are designed for reliability in rough conditions. They are not designed for accuracy. I'm not sure how your Valmet/Sako RK62 performs...Historically Finnish copies of Russian pig guns tend to be of much higher quality...I can't picture a company like Valmet/Sako shipping garbage out their door....On the other hand, the Stoner AR style rifle is designed to be reliable AND a tack driver. AND don't bother with saying that the 7.62x39 is a more powerful close range cartridge...Big deal...because we already got that covered with the. 300 Blackout and that cartridge is a pig too but fired from an AR platform, it becomes an accurate pig.
The truth is if you want an accurate 7.62x39 you have to pick up a Russian or Yugoslavian SKS. Unfortunately nice examples of them are getting increasingly hard to find and you will pay through the nose for one...Gone are the days when you could get a whole case of SKS rifles for a couple hundred bucks...But I understand that they are still popular with criminal biker gangs in oz.... ac_lmfao

It's a .40 S&W...looks like a jacketed 180gr. hardball
It's a relatively common semi-auto handgun caliber that sits between the 9mm and the. 45 ACP in power.
Its what my son carries

I have a .40 S&W in a customized Browning hi-power on a Mk III frame as my go-to IDPA gun. It's a nice piece that I have dumped a lot of money into but it is a pleasure to shoot...I wouldn't necessarily carry it as it is an all steel heavy weapon the prints all to easily.

Then don't own one...It's that simple and it's probably the wiser course of action for those who do not like the idea of owning a gun...In the US, those that are uncomfortable with firearms ownership are free to find an alternate legal means to defend themselves, unlike other so-called civilized western nations that have the temerity to look down their noses at us while leaving their citizens defenseless in the face of two legged predators...Where even the carrying of a bottle opener or a pointed stick will land you in front of a political hack, otherwise known as a judge.

Facts, logic and common sense be damned...Politicians simply want to ban guns because it is a means to achieving power and there are a lot of ignorant sheep among you that see nothing wrong with that.
The problem you are facing in Canada is that you the citizen, have NO legal right to own a firearm...Your government grants you not rights but privileges and those privileges can be taken away or suspended at any time and you have virtually no legal recourse to fight it...Just like in Australia your government can manufacture a public emergency in the wake of some loon running amok and make criminals out of law abiding citizens simply for owning a scary looking gun and there is NOTHING you can do about it.

Gun rights are women's rights?
What is trying to be conveyed here is the right to self-defense, which is a basic human right not limited to women. It's also speaks to the fact that the fastest growing segment of the shooting sports is women...Especially in the shotgun sports, and not just in trap, skeet, sporting clays, etc but in upland hunting as well.
I read not too long ago that there is even an uptick in women applying for hunting licenses in continental Europe. Places like Germany have seen a rise in women wanting to hunt in the wake of COVID outbreaks and meat contamination scares in slaughter houses across Europe.

Last year ended up being the highest gun sale year since the current record-keeping system went into effect, according to USA Today. Gun sales skyrocketed 40% in 2020 compared to 2019, with a record 39,695,315 background checks conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The gun buying surge has continued into 2021 in a major way. In January, which is when Joe Biden was inaugurated as president, U.S. gun sales soared 60% to 4,137,480, the largest single month since figures started to be recorded in 1998.
The research found that new gun owners were less likely to be the typical demographic of white males: Half were women, one-fifth were black, and one-fifth were Hispanic.
One for old Brick.

The majority of America's gun murders are carried out with pistols in inner cities. Yet you want to go out into the suburbs and rural areas and take away rifles. You don't want to reduce the problem of gun violence, Mister President. You want to run away from it. Just like you did with the Taliban

The Biden administration is quickly amassing millions of records on U.S. gun owners in what some gun-rights advocates fear could be the precursor to a federal registry.
Biden Admin Amassing Millions of Records on US Gun Owners Amid New Crackdown on Firearms
Biden's ATF obtained more than 54 million gun owner records in 2021 alone
The Biden administration in just the past year alone stockpiled the records of more than 54 million U.S. gun owners and is poised to drastically alter gun regulations to ensure that information on Americans who own firearms ultimately ends up in the federal government's hands, according to internal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The ATF in fiscal year 2021 processed 54.7 million out-of-business records, according to an internal ATF document obtained by the Gun Owners of America, a firearms advocacy group, and provided exclusively to the Free Beacon. When a licensed gun store goes out of business, its private records detailing gun transactions become ATF property and are stored at a federal site in West Virginia. This practice allows the federal government to stockpile scores of gun records and has drawn outrage from gun advocacy groups that say the government is using this information to create a national database of gun owners—which has long been prohibited under U.S. law.
The ATF obtained 53.8 million paper records and another 887,000 electronic records, according to the internal document that outlines ATF actions in fiscal year 2021. Gun activists described this figure as worryingly high and said it contributes to fears that the Biden administration is trying to keep track of all Americans who own firearms, in violation of federal statutes. The procurement of these records by the ATF comes as the Biden administration moves to alter current laws to ensure that gun records are stored in perpetuity. Currently, gun shops can destroy their records after 20 years, thereby preventing the ATF from accessing the information in the future.
"As if the addition of over 50 million records to an ATF gun registry wasn't unconstitutional or illegal enough, the Biden administration's misuse of 'out-of-business' records doesn't end there," Aidan Johnston, the Gun Owners of America's director of federal affairs, told the Free Beacon. "Instead of maintaining the right of [licensed firearm dealers] to destroy Firearm Transaction Records after 20 years, buried within Biden's proposed regulations is a provision that would mean every single Firearm Transaction Record going forward would eventually be sent to ATF's registry in West Virginia."
The ATF's registry site has long been a battleground between gun advocates and the federal government. Those in favor of more restrictive gun measures want the ATF to digitize this registry and create a federal database of U.S. gun owners, a move opposed by groups such as the Gun Owners of America and the National Rifle Association. The ATF has so many records stored in its West Virginia site that several years ago the floor collapsed, according to the New York Times.
An ATF spokesman declined to comment on internal agency records but told the Free Beacon that the agency's "National Tracing Center processes millions of out of business records each month." However, "those out of business records do not constitute an initiation or continuation of any federal gun registry," the spokesman said.
The Gun Control Act of 1968 mandates that licensed firearm dealers that go out of business provide the ATF with their records. They are then processed into images, though the ATF maintains this database cannot be searched by a purchaser's name. Physical records, the agency says, are then destroyed.
The record-keeping issue has received new scrutiny as the Biden administration readies to implement several new restrictions on firearms and owners, including a proposed ban on anywhere from 10 to 40 million pistol braces, which are used as stabilizers on popular weapons such as AR-15s. Under these guidelines, gun owners would be ordered to register or destroy these pistol braces.
The ATF's proposed regulations would also require gun parts to be regulated with background checks, meaning that if an individual assembled a legal homemade gun, he may be forced to submit to up to 16 different background checks.

Look at the Kyle Rittenhouse case.
Joseph "kiddie diddler" Rosenbaum got shot in the head with an AR-15 and yet he was still alive for a while after that.
AK-47 is a lot more destructive rifle.

I know as little about the Kyle Rittenhouse case as I do the Gabby Petito murder.

The way the msm has framed the case against Rittenhouse is the stuff of a Hollywood movie.
Which it will no doubt become.
"This movie is based on real events. We say "based" because we've perverted and distorted the facts to make the movie more interesting and to promote some form of ideological agenda".
There is no form of cinema entertainment I despise more than "biopics".
