My point is that young women are spear heading a LOT of sociaist/progressive agendas and policies. Feminism has become the new facade of socialism, and it has been adept in infiltrating many of our social institutions, particularly education.



Feminism is no longer a social movement, but a political activism organisation.



Much of the left/progressive agenda is dominated by women, who have adroitly employed sexism, racism and victimism to recruit and attract followers.

Teachers in the US allowed kids to cut class to attend the billionaire's climate protests, but would they do the same if kids wanted to attend a save the second amendment protest. Would kids in Canada be allowed to skip school and attend a protest against bills C-48 and C-69?

One issue Autistic and Asperger people share is they tend to take what they are told very literally. They sometimes find it difficult to distinguish fact from fiction, when the fiction is presented as a fact.



What Greta likely doesn't understand is most climate activists, even people voicing radical climate claims, don't absolutely believe their own claims in the way Greta does. If everyone who says they are concerned wholeheartedly believed climate change was about to destroy the world, they would all abandon their jobs and normal lives, and march until something was done about it.



I could see her becoming a cynic about alarmism when she gets older.

As an old-fashioned leftist, I still believe "it's the economy, stupid" and worry more about the working poor and vanishing trade unions than the vanishing ozone layer that never did.



But watching Greta on Youtube made me realize I was facing two contradictory thoughts — a deep admiration of a young climate crusader who, despite being autistic, was making herself heard by the rest of the world and getting under the skin of a whole lot of people unused to being challenged.



However, it also dawned on me that there was an orientalist streak about Greta's narrative. She was justified to campaign to ensure the world woke up to the dangers of global warming, but her priorities were framed in her own privileges.



Her voice resonated among the same class of people that she belonged to — white upper-middle class and the new millionaire Marxists that will never be seen discussing issues of the working class at a Tim Hortons in Regent Park, but most definitely at cafes with French-sounding names.



That certainly does not take away from the value of what Greta is saying, but what she said at the United Nations alarmed me. For the first time, I could see her anger as contrived.



I may be wrong, but having seen another young woman — Malala Yousafzai — whose plight moved me to start a global initiative for a Nobel Peace Prize for her, I could see the fingerprints of a speech writer trying to make a child reject what her forefathers had accomplished in the last 200 years and reject it as the rape of Mother Earth.



"This is all wrong. I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean," she said. "Yet you have come to us young people for hope. How dare you? You have stolen my dreams, my childhood with your empty words."
