I hope the earhquake that will wipe Vancouver off the map along with all it's deranged libtard residents comes soon.
We are in the middle of an extreme cold spell. Overnight windchill lows could reach -50.
You're welcome to them. I don't want to see those bastards making their way across the prairies to where I am until I'm safely back in the states next week.
That cold out West is sick. It was three degrees Celcius today.

Damn. Even Polar bears go to the Caribbean at those temperatures.

Hey Eddie, you crazy little SJW.
On our coldest days, where would we be without the miracle of fossil fuels?
The gut-level argument for fossil fuel use that hits hardest?
During this cold snap with daytime highs around -30 C, because of cheap, reliable and abundant fossil fuels our cars still move, our lights, TVs, computers and stoves turn on and our phones get charged.
On Tuesday, with a daytime high of -30 C, the Reliable Energy twitter account, which tracks Alberta's sources of electrical power generation, reported: "At this moment 95.44% of Alberta's electricity is being produced by fossil fuels. Wind is at 2.98% of capacity and producing 0.51% of total generation, while solar is at 0.00% of capacity and producing 0.000% of total generation.
Nothing in the policy suggestions of the anti-oil and gas faction that will come close to either lowering carbon emissions on a massive scale or preserving worldwide prosperity. But despite hundreds of billions in investment in solar and wind around the world, there's not a city on earth that can run on solar and wind alone. That's why jurisdictions like Ontario that invested heavily in solar and wind haven't reduced overall emissions, though they have succeeded in jacking up electricity prices.
The greatest recent reduction in emissions came not from renewables, but when fracking in our oil and gas fields made for abundant natural gas, collapsing the price and making lower carbon gas more economical than coal. The solution was entirely private sector-driven — and the greens hate that.
Green activists deserve credit for raising awareness of climate change, but their so-called solutions are too costly, too ineffective, too bureaucratic and don't work.

Yeah, well they're going to keep pushing the lie and dismissing any logical reasoning to the contrary as crackpots and climate nazis, have them deplatformed where they can and buy up enough airtime to drown out peoples sensibilities in the matter.
It's what losers with no argument do.
If we eliminated the money and alarmism and dishonesty from climate change everybody we would have found a solution already.
BC cold killing hummingbirds
BURNABY, B.C. — Harsh winter weather on British Columbia's south coast has frozen out the area's resident hummingbirds.
The Wildlife Rescue Association says it has responded to more than 75 calls in just a few days from people who have found distressed, freezing or starving hummingbirds.
The group has rescued 10 hummingbirds and expects more help will be needed over the weekend for the birds that stay in southern B.C. year round instead of migrating south for the winter.
The centre says if people want to help, they should get additional feeders and alternate them when they freeze.
It says hummingbirds need to eat almost constantly and can consume half their weight in pure sugar every day.
The centre has received a report of a bird passing out at a feeder from the cold. If that happens, the group says people are advised to use a towel to pick up the bird, put it in a box with air holes along with the feeder, before bringing it inside to a quiet location overnight.
"Winter becomes a survival crisis as insects and nectar from flowering plants becomes depleted during freezing weather," the group says in a news release. "Without proper care and nutrition, cold temperatures can lead to the starvation and death of many hummingbirds."
Janelle Stephenson, the association's hospital manager, says the danger signs to watch for in the birds include weakness, confusion, visible injuries, birds that are on the ground or are unable to fly.
I've moved recently, but when I still lived in Langley I would hang a heated feeder I made myself. Was well below freezing when pics below were taken...

Its snowing pretty hard and I´m supposed to drive 160km to work.. I´ll be leaving soon.
Ever since the road maintenance got privatized, the roads have been in shitty condition..
Days go by and no snowplowers in sight.
And I would like to post my review on the performance of 2017 VW Caravel.
I´m able to sustain 120km/h speed on our shitty roads without the fear of crashing.
The transmission is a bit stiff.
But my overall impression is that it is a good vehicle..

The transmission is a bit stiff.
But my overall impression is that it is a good vehicle..
You have a van?
Is that practical in rural areas in the winter?
Its not mine. Its company property.
A 4x4 van is practical... There are 4x4 caravelles but this one was not..
I have a 4x4 Vito... But I would like to replace it with a Toyota Hiaca 4x4.
I see..
My husband drives a Ford F-150 4X4 company truck
That vehicle is a status symbol in here... After the taxes, the price goes beyond most people.
He would get the company Hilux in here.. ac_biggrin
It's the most common pickup truck on our roads..
I could be wrong, but I think it's the cheapest to buy.
I know.. American vehicles used to be popular in here.. But not anymore..
Taxes changed.
Most of your trucks are Japanese?
Yes.. They are popular..
What's the best selling Japanese pickup..
I was guess, Honda Ridgelines are the best selling Japanese pickups here..
The Nissan Titan is popular too.

Both Titan and Ridgeline have distinctly american design.. They are for the american market.
Hilux is pretty much the most popular.. The green ones are army.
Hilux, Corolla and Hiace have a great cultural significance to us.
Old Herman has a Ram 2500.

I own an F150. Total paid, including tax, was about $48,000.
Now to put Finland in perspective: I found a couple new F150 for sale there. Converting Euro's to Canadian Dollars, the Finns would pay $100,000 or more for a truck we would pay $50,000 for.
So it does seem that they tax the shit out of them!
However, most countries do this to some extent. The US applies quite a tax on foreign light trucks also. That all started when the US dumped a shitload of cheap chickens on the European market, one thing led to another, and the tax still remains...

I always had a thing for Toyota Tacoma. I just like the design.

For only about $5000 more you could get a full size Toyota Tundra.

I just did a search and discovered that the Ford F-150 is considerably cheaper than both Toyota trucks..
That's why my husband's company uses them.
