Who can't tell the difference between British accents and those of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. I can tell the difference between Australia and the heavy nasal New Zealand drawl.

Yes, I've had phone conversation with some forum reg'lars--Evs, Bricktop, RW, Dinky, Keebs--but that doesn't mean we turn up at each other's doorstep the very next day or that we're then constantly phoning each other afterward at all hours of the day.
No. Sometimes, you just want to meet in a virtual space where you feel you can drop the mask for a spell without necessarily compromising your ability to still enjoy playing the forum game. That game being the exchange of serious ideas mingled with (mostly) good-natured ribbing.
You're a loner, Mel, a one-man wolf pack. We get it. You have no desire to connect on a more authentic level with other human beings and, you know what? there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, though, and especially if you choose to participate in online discussion forums, this can have the adverse effect of "locking you into" a persona or a character that becomes stale or wears thin after a while (and this seems to be the case with most flamers I've only recently become familiar with in my online wanderings).
So, go ahead, be stale, be set in your ways, don't change, don't pine for more meaningful contact. The world will go on, I assure you. No one will think any less (or any more) of you.

Understand that I'm not completely adverse to contact... I have met a few posters in person back in tha day, including Vesna and Orik (aka David/Devon). That said, I just find it strange personally to have phone convo's with total strangers from the netz. To each their own, I guess... Whatever turns your crank! One thing I will state about that though: Once you meet someone in person, quite a bit of the 'allure,' if you will, disappears. It's almost a double-edged sword, whereby maintaining a certain level of anonymity does have its benefits in a way.

I have morals, and I dont believe in cheating, but I dont see anything wrong with having friends of the opposite sex.
My wife was super jealous, I wasnt allowed female friends. She had a conniption fit when she found out I was on a forum with other ladies lol. Yeah that didnt go too well lol.
