Title: What would siblings do?
Post by: Frood on February 25, 2020, 06:09:55 AM
Their father died an untimely and early death, leaving his young wife (50's) to look after a lush 50 acre farm... so the siblings pitched in where they could, near or distant...with either labour or cash injections for 14 years... not all the siblings though.. just a few... some of the siblings were college aged, and couldn't.... some of the siblings married fucking Italians, so they weren't allowed... but still, they all got over the mark...

...and then, when that mother wanted to move on, from the house that she still has 1860's photos of the farmhouse with ancestors sitting up front in the frumpy finest, she put out a call to the siblings... "does anybody want it?"

The siblings all wanted to keep it in the family at any cost... much cud was chewed on this...

...and eventually, everyone was happy having one sole brother buy it with his New Yorker wife... because they "wanted a change"...

FAST FCKING FORWARD 5 YEARS, AND 300K IN out building INVESTMENTS, but virtually nothing to the actual cedar siding house... AND, they're trying to flip it on the real estate market...

Should brother A murder brother B in his sleep, or kidnap him then torture him to death over 6 months? Barbecue skewers, or match heads... you know... painful shit...

One brother bought it with the blessing of the family. What is the problem.

The other siblings took themselves out of the process, because the one party feigned heritage... you know, keeping it in the family...and that same person started working on flipping the property...

He is scum... I hope he dies...

I never liked him much anyway... self absorbed and shifty...

Him and his wife made sure to get disabilities before they retired from the military and took on full time work in the peivate sector....

And their children are spoiled little brats...

I hope he gets Coronavirus and strokes out....

I always say that no matter what reason anyone gives, all arrangements should be set out legally so everyone is clear where things are and what can and cannot be done.

Yeah... we never needed to before... the family worked these things out...

...and the parents briefly toyed with putting a historical/heritage listing on the property decades ago but it was too constrictive and impractical.. small changes to it would become major hurdles...

I would hate to waste money on lawyers because family members won't honour a verbal agreement.

Verbal agreements go out the window a lot of times. Waste money on things worthwhile. The family you thought would never cut you down will. Believe me. It has been proven.

We've had rare instances many years ago where relatives have gone rogue (usually people who married into the family), but we banded together and ostracized them/blocked their action.

We even has a blood relative cheat on her husband and try to drag her new beau to family gatherings... they were barred from attending and we made sure her hubby was always there... (cuz he's family)... She eventually gave up and they reconciled...  :laugh3:

Verbal agreements go out the window with people who are not blood. That is when you need papers drawn up by scumbag lawyers.

Do you think he is lucky enough to get 75% more in interest in 5 years for an old property?

This day and age, people aren't going to pay for an over-inflated piece of property.

You could go see a lawyer for free for the first 30 minute consultation.

He sunk in 200k for what would have been a 150k property outright... but he got it for around 110k because family discount...

Since then, he's transformed a 1860's farmhouse into a stainless steel monstrosity, erected huge pole barns where the heritage buildings used to be, and has sought to pervert a family homestead into something that is an eyesore...

He's  a cocksucker...plain and simple...

I'm glad you cursed him out.

A few days ago, some unauthorized person vandalized one of my small native trees... He left a note with his mobile number. I rang it and blasted the shit out of him.

I was able to move on. I cannot undo what he did.

I hope there are family pictures of the homestead...if there are, mount them.

There are daguerreotype glass images of my ancestors in their homespun finest sitting outside of the home for group photos... they weren't wealthy but they were proud.... my grandfather was born in their corn crib... his ancestors buried in a small plot with gravestones now overgrown... one of the church pews from the now gone church sat in the back entrance room because my mum saved it 30 years ago, and a patchwork quilt sewn from leftover britches of my family...

...all gone now... tossed in a dumpster by my brother and his wife...

That quilt was made sometime in the 1890's... it was still a hardy thing in the late 1980's... laying over the church pew in the back room which served as a coat and boot area...
