After a decade of irresponsible hard leftists running the city we have seen our debt grow 7 fold and annual tax increases more than double the rate of inflation. That's more than $3,000 for every man, woman and child in this city. And that's before we borrow more than $500 million for a downtown arena.

all i know about this guy is he was against using tax payers dollars to build the new arena....ok in my books...these fucking sports asshole need to start paying their way and not saddle the general public with 100's of millions in debt so they can play a stupid game in a shiny new building......i never could figure out why deadmonton always voted in the socialists to run the town...no wonder it is 40 years behind calgary in development and now population....shame

The city manager has already said we can expect a 5.5% increase in property taxes to pay for all the big ticket items the previous leftist council voted to approve. Our new profligate spending leftist nutjob mayor is robbing Edmontonians blind.

Tax increases well above the rate of inflation are the norm here. One of the most prosperous big cities on the continent and we have a $2.9 billion dollar debt. This is what you get when you have decades of leftards looting property owners.
