not as of yet. I mean they closed the dining of all restaurants but you are allowed to pick up takeout and have delivery.  They stopped all commercial selling but keeping open closing of houses because it's an essential need.  Thank goodness because I have the movers coming today and move in my new home tomorrow.  I just hope the state of emergency waits until Tuesday.  In my county, we have 25 cases.  We have had one death. The youngest one so far is an 11 year old.

You are in Canada?  It is still the same here.  I am working from home right now but the emergency rooms are slow and I am worried that they are going to cut because production is low.  I didn't think I was going to see this in my lifetime, boy I was dead wrong lol.

Hey Fash,  How are you?  I have not been around the boards much due to double shifts at the hospital.  I have been entered into the labor pool and pulled into different areas.  It's been a bit challenging and exhausting.  The new board highlights look nice though.

I hope and pray everyone stays healthy,

Good to see you again kid. Is it busy at the hospitals where you are. They were dead here because people weren't going to hospitals for surgeries or anything else. It's slowly getting back to normal.

Well it's not busy with actual Covid patients.  However, we have to screen everyone who enters or works in the damn thing now.  I was placed on this lovely committee ac_wot .  I love that our mayor through, he's not a leftist and refuses to coward up like some.  He has kept things open except for a few bars at the beach.  A few bars here tested positive and they shut down, besides that it's actually going well.

We are hosting the republican convention.  I'm super excited to see that happen with the economy boost for the city.

I do miss the boards and posting.  See you around Herman.

I think Florida is doing a great job,  I think shutting down the nation was horseshit...sorry but JMO.

Over all, I think my hospital did fair for never having to deal with such a thing.  I think the real tragedy is people who are homeless and can't keep their homes and lost their jobs and businesses.

Hi  moonpie

Florida is one area I have been tracking daily for months as it was one of the first to open up. Numbers went crazy  around mid July and been reducing steadily since

Hey Fash,  how are ya?

I know it has been a bit.  I have just been trying to exercise more and when I get free time I am walking my dogs or working out.  I am on a mission my oldest baby ties the know in January.

I pop in here and there.

You must be so excited about the upcoming wedding..

Has your state added more restrictions since the number of cases started going up?

nope just the opposite.  My hospital numbers decreased in tremendously.  I hope and pray it continues to decline.

People are getting it but recovering easier than the flu I believe.  I think it is how you are being treated.  JMO

I am excited just went to Orlando to look for a dress.  I ordered a couple off line too.  I am so picky though.  I may go to Tampa too.

That's terrific, I'd be super excited too..

Just curious Moonpie, how do they treat coronavirus patients in your state, and at your hospital?

I think Florida is doing a great job,  I think shutting down the nation was horseshit...sorry but JMO.

Over all, I think my hospital did fair for never having to deal with such a thing.  I think the real tragedy is people who are homeless and can't keep their homes and lost their jobs and businesses.

Lock downs caused so much devastation. There has to be way to respond to a pandemic without causing so much collateral damage.

Florida is one area I have been tracking daily for months as it was one of the first to open up. Numbers went crazy  around mid July and been reducing steadily since

Florida has always had one of the lowest death / case rates anywhere  which logically would indicate  less hospitalizations as well .. losing 2 / 100 cases (Well above the numbers claimed by those who tried to blow it off as "cold" or "flu"  .. but about the best "actual" numbers anywhere)

Yes.

1. Wear a mask.

2. Engage in physical distancing.

3. Wash or disinfect your hands regularly.

It appears not everyone got the memo, though.

2300 new cases a day is still far below the 8-10,000 new infections they were getting six weeks ago. The state is testing more people than ever and the positivity rate is dropping too.

The current stats don't support your argument. That state has gone from 8-10 k of cases per day to about 2,500. So, the situation has stabilized.

The people that are dying in Florida, are the ones that should have been quarantined in the first place--the elderly, and in particular those in senior care facilities. It's the same here in Ontario.

We cannot deny that the response to COVID in Western countries, ie quarantining the healthy has been a failed one. We should have quarantined vulnerable groups and instituted a mask policy for schools, workplaces, shopping and public buildings. That is closer to the East Asian approach which has been more successful than the North American solution and it didn't cause all the collateral damage that full lock downs of the general population have.

This is sheeple speak. Total lock downs will go down in history as the worst response to a health emergency.

Millions of cancelled/postponed surgeries and treatments leading to death. Hundreds of millions of deaths from starvation globally as agriculture and it's supply chains are ground to a halt. Alcoholism, mental health problems and family violence soaring. Kids falling behind in where they should be academically. Elected governments acting like the Kim regime in North Korea. Oh yeah, long term lock downs are da bomb. Speaking of bombs, why not just nuke high population density areas. You will kill lots of people, but hey it may slow the fucking spread temporarily. Isn't that what it's all about? Victory is temporarily slowing the spread. Who cares about the vast swath of destruction it cuases right?

We were told that temporary general lock downs would be one time only to prevent the health care system from being overwhelmed..

That never happened, but in most provinces in Canada, and most states in the USA, they were extended..

We are seeing an uptick in cases in most provinces in Canada, and already there are threats to reimpose draconian lock downs..

This is despite the fact that hospitalizations are trending down.....it makes no sense.

In BC, actives, hospitalizations and ICU are increasing quite rapidly ... this week alone they doubled or more

Care Homes are doing well, but ICU rate is not good (1/3 of all hospitalizations)

So long as it doesn't get to overwhelming hospitals, all will be well

I saw that on the news cc..

The number of infections is rising in Alberta, but hopitalizations are not..

And the number of people in ICU is about the same as when we were only getting thirty new infections a day..

Alberta has a more youthful population than BC though, and I did read that a lot of new infections here are among young and healthy people.

Ah. While we were way below you for new Active cases before, we are now at 100+ / day now

Our newer cases are mainly young people now as regulations are lifted which makes sense .. still hospitalizations are rising rapidly

Maybe they are bringing it to their family which also would be expected
Title: Re: Moonpie
Post by: Thiel on September 17, 2020, 03:57:39 PM
We had zero or one or two cases for about six weeks in Manitoba. And then a month ago we started getting thirty plus cases a day. So, when you go from zero to fifty, there will be some infected people who require hospitalization at least temporarily. But, last I heard, there were 10 people in the hospital and 2 in ICU. That is manageable.

I mistakenly assumed you would understand what "rate" meant

That the "total"  number of cases and thus deaths  are quite high is a no-brainer .. although down a lot in the past month

Your country as a whole was over 4, but now is at 3 / 100 as younger people come more into play

I have make it easy and not give the extended decimals so as to not befuddle you

You call 2500 cases a day stable? I don't. Considering the real number is probably three times that because not everybody gets tested I call it a fucking embarrassment.

And you are right about the Asian response, and guess what, they ain't doing that in the southern states, among others.

That the "total"  number of cases and thus deaths  are quite high is a no-brainer .. although down a lot in the past month

Your country as a whole was over 4, but now is at 3 / 100 as younger people come more into play

I have make it easy and not give the extended decimals so as to not befuddle you

Just tell me the date you would like to see the Florida numbers for back to mid July (and  other areas I track), and I can oblige .. and you don't have to ask nice - I'm very picky as to who gets to kiss my ass

Asshole, the average deaths were 119 a day. Use your 'rate' and explain how that number in any way is good.

And if you guys could keep your responses shortish, that would be appreciated. I don't like reading BS filler.

Hi  moonpie

Florida is one area I have been tracking daily for months as it was one of the first to open up. Numbers went crazy  around mid July and been reducing steadily since

Florida has always had one of the lowest death / case rates anywhere  which logically would indicate  less hospitalizations as well .. losing 2 / 100 cases (Well above the numbers claimed by those who tried to blow it off as "cold" or "flu"  .. but about the best "actual" numbers anywhere)

Florida must be doing well at protecting Care Homes

Not sure if you give it out, but if you do, what part of the state are you in .. sounds like Atlantic side?. I ask as I lived in Sarasota on the Gulf Coast for several years

You kidding?

Florida has some of the worst numbers. Where you getting your info from?

Over 13k deaths and approaching a million cases quickly in total.

The average is 119 deaths a day.

New Infections in Europe are rising as fast now as they were in early April..

This comes after weeks and months of very low rates of infection..

So, what are European countries doing about it?

Rolling back reopening efforts..

My point is that lock downs are temporary measures that can change very quickly..

We mustn't get smug and think temporary low rates of infection during and shortly after a lock down mean anything other than a temporary reprieve..

The only real solution will come when we have a vaccine.

That's good?

CC. You are the worst kind of idiot.

One who is believed by other idiots.

'Reasearch' this you bloviate asshole:

https://www.tampabay.com/news/health/2020/09/16/florida-passes-13000-coronavirus-deaths-added-2355-cases-wednesday/

Sure if you count all the people that are associated with being positive with covid but not actually dying of covid. That's a huge difference being reported Benzo.  Many have other illnesses and other terminal diseases that are being reported as a covid cause of death.

That's bullshit.

If someone has cancer, gets Covid, and pass because of it, Covid is the cause of death.

Prove otherwise.

so why doesn't the flu get reported  the same way?

Since opening, current numbers are rising rapidly every day  .. BTW, that includes deaths not just cases

We are in the same boat in Ontario. Our lock down lasted longer than most provinces. Now, we are getting two hundred plus new infections a day. I haven't checked our death rate. You might know that though.

NZ was virus free and with zero international arrivals.

The Playstation profile forum is free of this type of individual because of strict rules against immature behavior. You have to prove you are on the Playstation network to post. Your ID is searchable and updated every day.  4.5 million people are in this database and you can look then all up and find out what video games or movies they are watching. You can meet youtubers and expand your friends list. The interface you use when going online using a playstation is a lot like facebook, you see all your friends timelines and can post and upload stuff to it.

This Benzo buffoon plays bingo and drinks cheap beer, we don't have to worry about him showing up there.

Hi fash how are you?  Yeah I logged in to see if I still knew my password and such.  How is it going here.  I've been gone a while.

Hey MP, good to see you again. How's life in the sunshine state? I usually go to the panhandle every winter for a golf vacation, but obviously I didn't this year.

We're into year two of the pandemic now, my province still has retrictions, and we're months away from being vaccinated..

So, we're coping the best we can..

How are things in your state and at your hospital?

Hey there.  Good here.  Mostly everything is back open.  There still a mask mandate in my city but because of our great governor things have been looking up.

You should try to do that soon.  Vacations are happening again here.

Things are going well here.  I have been vaccinated.  I hope things get better for you soon.  I pray it gets better CANT get worse I hope here out.

My hospital is doing well.  We are almost at the mandate when you can get all your medical information by phone.  Once you check in for a procedure everything that is done to you is at your fingertips.  Its mind blowing.

I wish our premier would do that, but unfortunately no Canadian province has the courage to do that.

Our prime minister is incompetent..

He has mishandled everything from the start of this pandemic, including procuring vaccines..

Countries like Chile and Serbia are way ahead of Canada in inoculating their populations.
