XP was decent for it's time, but it's old enough now to encounter some compatibility issues... You can still run pretty much everything on Windows 7 though!

No. You will upgrade if or when 1. you have heavy duty and / or modern apps to run ... or 2. have personal or business data on board that needs security
If you have none of the above, 7 is almost as smooth as 10 .. so long as you don't use it too much or with too heavy duty apps (for garbage to build up)

It is! And it's still going to be supported for another three years, but only for 'business' clients that pay a fee. Unfortunately it isn't that easy for me to access the extended support...

My PC build will easily run heavy duty or modern apps, since I built it with performance in mind. Security could be an issue now that support has ended (except for businesses), but to be honest security has more to do with the user than with the O/S... Run a proper firewall, etc.

That's the only heavy duty one I use - other apps I use are relatively light weights
You will be fine with 7 unless you run newer heavy stuff .. 7 was pretty good

I already agreed 7 is good if you don't need it for many of the new and heavy duty apps .. nor keep highly sensitive data
Further, speed required is only relative to App demands (comparability + computing power)
BTW - I also have mine built to extremely heavy duty standards years ago and with one of the first SSD drives .. when only Intel made them .. & a now older I7 processor but it was built to be very fast older one .. current machine is still almost as strong and fast as newer and highly expensive ones .. like 3 -4 grand or more today .. An strong ASUS altered to meet my needs .. and to still be fast and strong years later.
I sure hope I don't have to replace it .. but as to OS's, 10 is as sweet as it gets .. and it upgrades itself into newer / faster versions smooth as silk. I have not had one app altered after any of about 6 upgrades
If 7 meets your needs, stick with it .. Being comfortable (how it feels to you) with your machine in totality is what matters

Its weird to me, cause Im use to looking on the left, and reading from the left, now I scroll and I dont know who is saying what til I look way over to the right, then way over the left again lol.
